Tell us about yourself: Hello everyone!

I enjoy my online anonymity. I'm open about most everything though many parts of my private life I prefer to keep private. If I’ve not offered particular areas of information it’s usually because I don’t feel it’s relevant to the situation. I tend to quietly monitor and observe, offering input when I feel I have something important to share and if I feel strongly about something. I don’t hesitate to ask questions if I don’t understand something, regardless of how it may appear to others that I might be a simpleton. Once I get started talking though, I tend to talk a lot, so you've been warned about that!

Please do not take this as anything more than what it is, a desire for privacy. I am not intending to offend or be rude.

Much Peace to all of you, naked and furry.

Happy Holidays from Rorhin and Nordis!

Post by Nordis »

Hello everyone!

Now that I've got this typing thing down this is going to be fun! Wags and sniffies to everyone!

This Nordis guy is kind of different. He talks a lot! And he laughs more at his own silliness than anyone else does! He's a good guy though. I like him! And he's good with the food and nom noms! I like everyone! I like nom noms! I like to wake him up! That's funny! He keeps pretending like he can't breathe if I'm on top of him pawing him, and he laughs when I lick his face!

There are two not-dogs here! Very curious creatures, but Nordis seems to love them so they must be ok, only look out for the claws! Those are sharp! You only need to learn that one time! I think they are intimidated by my size, or they are just weird, still trying to figure out which. They are tiny! They smell funny too! The not-dogs don't seem to be too interested in outside or snow. And the water in their bowl is much better than the water in mine! I wish they had a bigger bowl so it would hold more water! There is Bast, but Nordis calls him other names like Piggy and Bubble and who knows how many more names I've not heard yet!

Image

And there's also Sevin. That guy is a character! He's always doing something. I think he thinks he's a dog, but he's not. Definitely not a dog. He looks funny when he hisses too! He's only done that a couple of times though. He likes to hide around a corner and wait for me to come by, so I humor him by walking around and pretending to not see him until I've passed him. And his toys are fun to eat. Nordis wasn't thrilled about that, but he got over it. He doesn't understand about eating things. And really, who ever heard of a rubber ducky on a car anyway!?! Obviously it's a ridiculous idea so the car just simply had to be chewed off! Most of the time Nordis is calling Sevin Squeaky or ChipChip or Bender. I wonder if I get nick names too!?! Ok, maybe Sevin's got a bit of Dutch Shepherd in him, because he is very funny!

Image

We went on a really long walk the other day! There are so many edible things here! Nordis is a killjoy though. Always telling me don't eat this and leave that alone. Really, they are perfectly good edibles. I tried explaining it to him but he's a bit dim in that area I think. So on we walk. I found a few sticks that were in the wrong spots, so I carried them to the right places where they belonged, and had to chew a couple of them on the way so they were right proper sticks. Oh, and there was this big not real not-dog! I had to bark at it! It didn't seem to notice me, so I barked more! Nordis said it's a horse made out of fiberglass. Didn't stop me from barking at it, as it needed a barking! Kind of like when the third day I was here I noticed the little stuffed wolf Bilke hanging from the ceiling above us... that needed a barking too! Nordis wanted to get closer to the not real not-dog and it didn't seem to care too much, but I barked at it all the same, just so it would know to not mess with us! Then after it was well barked I decided it needed a sniffing. Turns out it has a very uninteresting personality. Nordis said I had to wait outside the bank and he must have been worried the wall there would be leaving because he tied the leash to it so I could keep it where it was. I did a good job of that. I think he thought I couldn't see him in there because he was watching me when other people came in and out of the bank, but it's all glass and I could see him right there. Silly Nordis. I just had to lick him when he was trying to untie the wall! Then it was time to come home, and on the way some man followed us into a parking lot and called out from his truck that I'm a "fine looking dog"! Nordis and I agreed with him, and we let him know we appreciated him telling us. That makes two people who have commented on my dashing good looks! We're not counting Nordis! He says stuff like that all the time. He says I have very pretty eyes! So of course I have to let him see them! And Sasja saw my pictures and said I'm very handsome and Jason told Nordis I look very intelligent! Nordis has smart friends!

Snow! I had to stop right after I got out the door, because that stuff is cold, and soft! It looks like you should be able to walk on it, but then you find out the ground is still there, but under the snow. And it tastes like water! What's this all about!?! I only paused for a second to figure it out though. I don't think Nordis noticed! I made some of it yellow, and then decided to make tracks around the yard in it. Just about then Nordis went back in and came back out with a big spoon for making big nom noms! I'm thinking finally he's getting the idea of what food is all about. But no, he started throwing this snow stuff at me! Ok, that's fun!

Image

Now it looks like I'm frosted with powdered sugar, you know like those doughnut nom noms? But it still only tastes like water.

Image

Nordis said something about pictures and camera. I said snow, dog next door, and play. He said camera again. Then he threw snow at me, like he was thinking he'd catch me surprised! Silly Nordis!

Image

I found a stick out of place in the yard! It was hiding in the snow! Silly sticky!

Image

I chose the teal leash for my formal Christmas attire. The red was my favorite but Nordis says since I chewed it in half we can't use it anymore! I'm thinking there's so many more options than just "in half".

Image

Nordis said he was cold because he doesn't have fur on his fingers and was about to drop camera, so we had to go in for a bit, then it was back outside! The snow was still there! We played more! I found out that fur is greater than snow! I'm invincible!

Image

Then it was more camera. Nordis said lots of people wanted to see me and that was why we had camera. So I figured, yeah, lots of nice people I know and I thought about them on Christmas and how nice they are, and even people I don't know that want to see me, so ok, we'll do camera and pictures.

Image

But there are so many things that still need a sniffing!

Image

But my adoring fans!

Image

I'm thinking to myself, How long can this last? Things unsniffed, over there, need sniffing!

Image

Sigh! I'll meditate on it. No, I'll use mind control on Nordis! Yeah!

Image

Nordis, are we done? Come on now!

Image

Ok, I claim alpha! We're done now!

Image

This was strange! I asked Nordis about it.

Image

He said it was a snow drift! He says the little spots falling down all get together and do this!

Image

He's right, I can see the tiny pieces now! I'm thinking this snow drift looks a bit too tidy though!

Image

So I fixed it!

Image

Ok, off to do some more dreaming now! Nordis says he posted a Thank You to everyone who helped us get together in the Whatever category, so be sure to read that! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas like we did! Wags and licks and happiness to all of you! Bye bye!

Wonderful photos, and it looks like he's found a fantastic new home with you!

Your cat is lovely too - reminds me of my childhood cat, Walter (she, yes she, lived to be 19 and was an excellent bosser around of dogs).

Tell us about yourself: Artist, Mother, Equestrienne, Educator, Homesteader wannabe, dog-lover. Not counting my current DS, I have had 2 GSDs and 3 rescued mixed-breeds. All of these dogs were rescues, except for my childhood GSD, who was a gift from my parents when I was 7, and my current DS who I bartered artwork for from the breeder. Maiyou, one of my current dogs, is a Pitbull/New Guinea Singing Dog of 13 years old. Still very active and "Young" in nature. I now also have a DS named Mokume, (pronounced "Moh-koo-meh") or "Moko" for short. Newest member of our pack is Freyja, a random mixed hound I rescued during a horseback trip in the middle of a state forest.

Thanks Deb. Oh, I am as well. Rorhin is a great guy! He's getting more and more affectionate and that's really great for me! Seems he likes to cuddle a lot! Good for both of us!

Thanks Barbara! You're right, he's fitting in very nicely and showing me that all my concerns were simply wasted energy on my part. I agree with you, he's most handsome! And I'm glad I get to be the one for him! Rescuing feels really really good! Love your pics of Odin by the way! He's a looker as well, both of yours are!

Thanks Autumn! Hope you're doing well! And I've been ranting about that ornament! It's beautiful. I've got confirmation of that from friends outside the forum! If you're going to be making them for us, I'd like to be on your list for possibly four horses and one dog at least! Just giving you fair warning! <(^-^)>

Thank you Eric! I've done my homework! If I can get people liking me because I post lots of pics, well... I'm ok with that! Hahaha! Really glad you enjoyed it!

Yes Barbara, you're correct. I made a couple of posts in the Whatever section of the forum. Once when I was leaving to pick him up, and again just recently to express my gratitude to everyone who made the whole thing possible and got me and my buddy together! Here's a link for that one!

Awww, Nordis, you are too kind in your praise. :)

Happy to do any custom work you like, dogs, horses, and otherwise. Just email me off-forum anytime to discuss what you want done.

I love, love, love seeing all the photos and your (or rather, Rorhin's) upbeat narratives on everything. *huge grin* Keep those updates coming, and I look forward to more pictures and narration of said pictures of your adventures together!

I'm so glad you two have found each other, sounds like you are off to a fabulous beginning of a long and mutually beneficial partnership.

Best regards and warm wishes, *raises a glass to New Beginnings at the close of an Old Year and the New Year bringing great things still to come.*
