Any advice on nail clipping?

Post by Rootavel »

Usually my boy is wonderful about letting me groom him, play with his paws, massage his gums, and clean his ears and eye area..but I cannot clip his nails. He gets very frightened and the situation quickly becomes dangerous. He gets panicked if he even sees the nail clipper.. I'm not sure how to get him used to the process. Nail clipping has never hurt him either. :/

Yea Zoey doesn’t like us messing with her nails either. She gets quite mouthy.

lots of treats and just sitting with them with the nail clippers, not even cutting for a bit and just giving treats while holding the clippers

We play with the bouncy ball on the concrete back patio - never have to cut Radar or Leela's nails.
