New Feature Coming: Knowledgebase

Post by centrop67 »

There's an extension to the forum software that will allow me to maintain a "Knowledgebase" for the forum.

I installed it, but it's currently disabled until I load it with some content.

Because this is a user-generated content site, of course I am going to put information in the knowledgebase directly from your posts and submissions.

So far, these are the categories:
* Breed Standard
* Breeder Information
* Feeding
* Training
* Activities

What I need from the members is nominations for posts (or even full threads) that should go into the knowledgebase.

In addition to posts, if you want to create a knowledgebase article and send it to me that will work as well. Once the kb is enabled, you'll be able to submit articles directly for review.

Also, if you want to suggest other categories, let me know.

Not that I'd want to advertise for companies, but it has helped me when more experienced posters have talked about specific tools they use. I used recommendations to start evaluating, which ecollar, which collar, even which kennel etc.

I'd also like to see information about bringing home a Dutch rescue. There is a lot of puppy information out on the web, but not a whole lot about bringing on a working dog.

Size and weight seems a popular topic for new owners. Jay

I wondered how the knowledge base was coming along.

I kind of put this on hold for the moment. When I started testing it, I wasn't all that thrilled about how it works on this platform. I may do something a little different.
