Tell us about yourself: DS and Mal foster newly approved aug'12 by NADSR and ABMCR. high-functioning Autistic in nyc/hamptons in my 60's. Rescued the smartest dog i had ever seen off nyc street in 2000. Tracedog's intelligence exceeded by multiples my judgement that day. My first [and only as of 10/2012] dog turned out to be a DS, perhaps with a touch of something else, but attention to detail, behavioral traits, and physical habits, movement, and skill identical to DS. But MUCH more intellectual ability. supremely confident in all settings, fearless, very outgoing and social with people and friendly with dogs. Seldom apart in over 12 years, Trace Dog was the most important relationship of my adult life; he was my partner. He died july17,2012. i am dying without him. www.youtube.com/tracesobaka www.dogster.com/dogs/637612

adorable! love Titus' look!

my current lot does not do this [ unless you count Tracer's obsession with a small dog bed that he drags into every other bed to sleep with - which lacks the cute quotient ] but TraceDog always had 1 or 2 cuddle toys that he would hug, keep under his chin, etc., and never did harm to.

Hendrix has many surviving stuffed animals and a few he's made into Skinzees, but Pig is his absolute best friend. He goes everywhere with Pig. Including playing in the rainy mud today, to which only one was able to get a proper bath.

Tell us about yourself: I have a small kennel breeding working line Dutch Shepherds, and just stumbled on this forum while browsing the internet. We train our dogs in police K9 work primarily, with hopes of being able to compete in the near future.

Tell us about yourself: Howdy,
We are a family of rescues, (yeah, me included), in Southern California. My wife and I currently have two dogs, a Golden Retriever/ GSD mix by the name of Morgan, and our DS mix(?), Dinga Roo. We had never even heard of a Dutch Shepherd before until we were stalked by this nice lady in the pet store who asked us if Roo was a DS. Dang if that lady wasn't on to something. I just found this site, so here we are....

Tell us about yourself: I live in New York City with my wife Molly, my DS Cola and my two cats, Francis and Kaji. Cola is 16 months old. She has done some preliminary Schutzhund work as well as agility and obedience. She 100% has a mind of her own, which is ok by me, as it's a brilliant one! Cola seemingly understands natural English and learns new tricks wit just one or two reps.

Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.

Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!

I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.

had been thinking the same as Michael that this month's theme has produced so many interesting and great entries, like ''me and my dog'' did over a year ago [ICE with Patty or Heather and Letty dancing together as great examples!]. the ''Flowers'' theme if i recall was the king of ''beautiful'' photos, but these ''Friends'' photos are sooooo much fun to look at! so many personalities on display.

well, here is my entry. it is not the photo that i have planned for weeks to post here [ which included all 3 monsters in some sort of conference plotting my demise], but the one i chose at the last second while in the act. it is fairly recent - last month or so:

XANDER and SAKIMA: Xander decided to invade Saki's crate to wake-up Sakima from his nap.

Tell us about yourself: First Dutch owned. Was bought for my daughter and the family. Currently going through obedience classes. I am former military and currently working for a law enforcement agency. Have had labs most of my life and a friend introduced me to his Dutch and my family fell in love. Our current one is a female named pepper and is just now 3 months old. I would like to possibly train her for search and rescue

Tell us about yourself: Artist, Mother, Equestrienne, Educator, Homesteader wannabe, dog-lover. Not counting my current DS, I have had 2 GSDs and 3 rescued mixed-breeds. All of these dogs were rescues, except for my childhood GSD, who was a gift from my parents when I was 7, and my current DS who I bartered artwork for from the breeder. Maiyou, one of my current dogs, is a Pitbull/New Guinea Singing Dog of 13 years old. Still very active and "Young" in nature. I now also have a DS named Mokume, (pronounced "Moh-koo-meh") or "Moko" for short. Newest member of our pack is Freyja, a random mixed hound I rescued during a horseback trip in the middle of a state forest.
