- Tell us about yourself: Hi. My name is Debbie, I'm a rescue dog, and I live in Maryland. My foster mom is
Karen and I'm her 9th foster dog. Based on my learning style, markings,
and physical characteristics, several trainers think I'm a DS mix.
When I read about Dutch Shepherds I couldn't believe how the breed characteristics did indeed match me! I'm joining this site to 1) learn more about Dutch Shepherds and 2) a chance of finding a wonderful home. I'm ADOPTABLE! - Location: Germantown, MD

Mix available for Adoption in Maryland
We've been doing ongoing training at the Foster Dog Alliance in Rockville, MD and have had great results. Before she'd dart around, jump all over the places, and only knew "sit". Through training classes she's learned techniques to calm herself, is less reactive, nice manners, can greet people without jumping, and has an extensive vocabulary. I love the look on her face when she's training/working. She enjoyed her intro classes to basic Nose Work and Tracking. Here's some recent photos of her first agility class last week.
Debbie came out of the shelter with the usual kennel cough. Up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped. We decided to try her on Chloricalm to make her feel more comfortable, especially as we expected her to transition to a new home. At Adoption Events and her class she'd show signs of stress such as leash biting, mouthing, and making noises. (of course I'd try to minimize her exposure). Now she's much more self-assured.
She's adoptable through the Montgomery County Humane Society in Maryland. The usual adoption fee is $250.00 but I'm pretty sure she's part of the September Black Dog Adoption special where the adoption fee is waived.
On Face book she's: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Adoptabl ... 6753972846. Her blog Debbie Tails - the inside scoop of a foster dog's search for a new home is: http://adoptabledebbiedog.blogspot.com/
I'd really love to find her the great home she deserves.
