I know we have some amazing trainers on this forum so I figured I would ask the experts ;)

What do you guys consider the major training milestones? Do you guys have a general sense of ages that you expect your pups to know certain things? For example, by 6 months they should sit and down on first command, stay for a few minutes by a year, etc.?

I never did that, I was always working them on something. there is plenty of OB they can do that does not have age specifics.

By six months my puppies have shaped behaviors and are getting ready to be trained... I do nothing but engagement, drive building and socialization with my dogs until they are around 2... you cant put expectations on individual dogs on what they should pr shouldn't know... I have goals set for each training lesson and take it for what it is... I never put a time frame on anything because that causes frustration, rushing and mistakes... I like to let them be puppies and once they show me they are ready for the real training then they start to be trained
