Tell us about yourself: I have had a DS for almost a year. Gwen and I are considering participating in PSA and or possible Ring Sport. I also have a Great Dane. I have grown up around working GSDs and my last GSD was a working K9 officer. I am all about dogs and animals in general and want to learn as much as I can about training.

Gwen and I went to our first trial this past weekend ;-) We got our BH and our PSA PDC sleeve titles ...woo hoo.. a lot of credit goes to Gwen and our club trainer Corey Dewberry for working with us tirelessly the last couple of months so that we would be ready ;-)

Christie, it was great seeing you again all be it briefly and it was an honor to have you as our PSA judge. Thank you!

It was a HUGE accomplishment!

Most people are familiar with the BH, but the PDC SD takes both proficiency in obedience and strong character and bitework on the field. What Kristie failed to mention is that out of many dogs that showed in both venues that weekend, her's was the only one to title in both. Therefore she also earned the "Iron Dog" award (I think that's what they called it). Cory's a good teacher and trainer, but at the end of the day, you are the one on the other end of the leash and the one going home with your dog. Great job! You have a lot to be proud of!!

Now I am blushing  Gwen is a fantastic dog to be able to learn with... She has her crack head moments (like when she was about to get up during her REALLY LONG down during the BH to investigate the new green mesh fence..or when she was done with the protection piece of PSA and barked during the whole critic.. :? ) We've worked really hard since spring and she may not have the nerve to go much farther but I wouldn't trade her for the world. The thing that really clicked for me (and thank god I got it right before we took the field for our BH) is that this is ALL supposed to be fun .. FUN for the dog and me.. Gwen takes her cues from me and I decided that we were going to do this and have FUN ...lol.. I put her in drive and we were on a mission .. and it WAS fun and it showed.. :orange:
now she has a big head and went home and has been acting up all week .. chasing kids and squabbling with our great dane.. time for us to get back to the field and get rid of all that mischievous energy ... I don't call her Gwenice the Menace for nothing

Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.

Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!

I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.

Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind.
Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32.
Can't wait for all the snow to get gone! Spring is coming too slow this year!
