Just a quick post to thank many people for saving the lives of three dogs in the Chicago area.
Val B pulled Ranger and temp fostered for a week until we could get him to MI. She then drove all the way from Madison, WI to IL to pick up a second dog and drove the two of them up North. Long Day for them! Many thanks for helping get Ranger on the right track and making it possible to get them towards Michigan.
Falon in Grand Rapids picked the duo up and headed Northwest. First time transporter....and I am sure I will take merciless advantage of her in the future.
There she met up with Jill who will be fostering both boys until homes can be found. Fostering is VERY hard work and I am grateful that Jill offered to take in two. I am happy to say that both boys are settling in very nicely.
Of course none of this could have happened without the amazing coordinating and organizing skills of Val L. She created the transport schedule, organized all of the many emails and made sure that everything went off without a hitch. This certainly isn't the first time she has saved my butt with a transport and I am so very grateful for her help. I truly don't think I could do it.
Secondly, Beth (new to DS rescue) agreed to take in a senior female on the west side of the state - between Chicago and Iowa. She picked the girl up and said she is settling in quite well also. Beth has been very active in Aussie rescue and is thrilled with her new striped guest.
Thank you to EVERYONE who made it possible to save these unfortunate Dutch that ended up in shelters. There are many cases where we can't save a dog due to lack of resources. These three success stories are very exciting!!!!
Stay tuned to the website (www.dutchshepherdrescue.org) for pictures and bios. They will certainly be looking for new homes soon!!
Sincerely,
Christie Meyer

Yay! Too bad there isn't a "DS Rescue" section on the forum 'cause this news definitely isn't just "whatever"!

Bless all of those who go out of their way to mop up other people's messes. Keep up the good work!

Yes - though not by us. She was adopted out locally before I could find a foster. Good news though!!vneerland wrote:Bless all of those who go out of their way to mop up other people's messes. Keep up the good work!

I had a blast! I only wish I was set up to foster these days - maybe some day in the future...
