Hi I'm new to the forum,
About 3 months ago I fostered a staff x gsd
We took her in to rescue as she was on a free to good home add, well my family totally fell in love and my other rescue bonded with her so well, we just could not give her up.
Well pebbles has become a a fantastic addition, picks up training well, highly intelligent and just great.
We googled pic and we came up with a pic from google that looks so much like her, we now thinking she not a staff x gsd but a Dutch Shepard.
Her a pic of her see what you think?
Pebbles is the top two pics pic we found on google is bottom pic
Not sure if I have a Dutch Shepard?.

Not really...Nicola lee wrote:Wonder if these pic will help more ?
Try to get a standing side view profile and a few head shots from the front and the sides and if at all possible, get them with the mouth shut. The main indicators are going to be closed muzzle size and shape, a straight on view of the ear set, and the build and size and tail when the dog is standing.
The first and 3rd photos in this posting are really helpful for breed identification. http://www.dutchshepherdforum.com/viewt ... =11&t=2608 Close ups of the head would be better too.

great pics but not good for telling what he is. I can sort of see he could be DS or at least part, but see if you can get more of his body, like a conformation shot.

- Tell us about yourself: DS and Mal foster newly approved aug'12 by NADSR and ABMCR. high-functioning Autistic in nyc/hamptons in my 60's. Rescued the smartest dog i had ever seen off nyc street in 2000. Tracedog's intelligence exceeded by multiples my judgement that day. My first [and only as of 10/2012] dog turned out to be a DS, perhaps with a touch of something else, but attention to detail, behavioral traits, and physical habits, movement, and skill identical to DS. But MUCH more intellectual ability. supremely confident in all settings, fearless, very outgoing and social with people and friendly with dogs. Seldom apart in over 12 years, Trace Dog was the most important relationship of my adult life; he was my partner. He died july17,2012. i am dying without him. www.youtube.com/tracesobaka www.dogster.com/dogs/637612

Re: Not sure if I have a Dutch Shepard?.
the last pic is wonderful and does suggest at least a DS mix, assuming we're not looking at a tiny dog [suggesting you got wrong info originally -- lucky you to get a great DS [mix?] !! ]. really gorgeous in that pic. also, if she learns faster than any dog or child you have ever known, then that also points very strongly to DS, which I infer somewhat reading between the lines of what you said.
so, how old do you think she is and can you give approx. weight and shoulder height?

- Tell us about yourself: I am a partnered male who spends my time caring for my ailing mother. I was angry when my sister told me she brought home a stray puppy (I live with her), But upon meeting Ginger my heart melted. I loved my Valkyrie so much (A german shepherd Rott mix), I never thought I would meet a dog so sweet, smart, and beautiful, but there she was. I have no papers but I thing Ginger is the dutchiest dutchess in dutchland.
Re: Not sure if I have a Dutch Shepard?.
I think she looks like a total dutchie, then again I'm biased because I think she looks like my ginger; but looking at the dog above to the right (I would assume they are supposed to be DS???) they look very much like the same breed, here is my ginger....
