Happy Valentine's Day!

Post by leih merigian »

I am so proud of my girl!

Every year, my cool uncle's pooch (one of those little hairy things, very cute, forget the breed  ) sends my pooch a Valentine's greeting, generally a picture of herself with a heart stuck strategically to her picture, etc. Geyser received her first VD greeting from her little cousin yesterday.

So, this morning, I decided to send one from Geyser to Daisy. It's an email, and no thought or time went into this...no well-thought out shot, no nice background or lighting, no nice prop, just all quick and dirty.

Here's the thing tho...this is the very first time I've asked Geyser to hold something---and a paper something!---in her mouth and wait while I took a picture. We spent about 30 seconds training it, then took two pictures, requiring two different setting ups...and she was just wonderful about it all. I was so proud of her!

As I said, not a great shot, but man, what a girl!

Anyone else have VD shots to share?

Oh, I can do way better than that! Tho, it's not a DS...

This was my Valentine's Day card picture from several years ago, featuring the incredible GSD, Zodi and Boozoo the Cat. I can't remember the contents of the card, but the tag line was something about "this is a stick up."

This photo shoot took three hours...this is the final picture, with an outtake to follow

And, one of many outtakes... (as you can see from the final photo, we had to do away with Boozoo's mask; he also kept messing with the background sheet, so had to take that down, too)

Anyway, I guess you can see why I called Geyser's shot a quick and dirty one
