Hi there!
These days are mounted cameras on animals very popular...like horse racing, flying eagles and other...but are there videos out there about ring sport, KNPV or Schutzhund?
Is somebody here in this community who owns a GoPro Action cam or other and can make such videos?
I would love to see these videos from a dog's perspective - has anyone links to videos?
Thanks,
Vhyran

- Tell us about yourself: My name is Karen and I have a dutch shepherd, Xander, born 6/14/13. He is my second dutch shepherd. My first was Rawly. Even though Xander is my second I still have a lot to learn. That is why I'm here, to learn, get advice, and meet people who love these guys as much as I do.

Ummm. I haven't heard of it but I'm not really into alot of sporting stuff. I did try to strap my cell phone to Xander's collar and got some interesting video of him catching ball. But it was very shakey. The video of him on his morning poop outin of sniffing the ENTIRE yard was pretty funny. I lost the video when my phone crashed. Maybe I will have to try again. Lol.

- Tell us about yourself: DS and Mal foster newly approved aug'12 by NADSR and ABMCR. high-functioning Autistic in nyc/hamptons in my 60's. Rescued the smartest dog i had ever seen off nyc street in 2000. Tracedog's intelligence exceeded by multiples my judgement that day. My first [and only as of 10/2012] dog turned out to be a DS, perhaps with a touch of something else, but attention to detail, behavioral traits, and physical habits, movement, and skill identical to DS. But MUCH more intellectual ability. supremely confident in all settings, fearless, very outgoing and social with people and friendly with dogs. Seldom apart in over 12 years, Trace Dog was the most important relationship of my adult life; he was my partner. He died july17,2012. i am dying without him. www.youtube.com/tracesobaka www.dogster.com/dogs/637612

i do not know, but i would love to see the world from Wega's perspective [ WegaWorld ?].
there does seem to be a resident camera geek/enthusiast newly emerging from among us, so hopefully he will see this post and respond - along with sports participants.

Check out K9 Working Dogs Dallas on Facebook - there may be gopro footage there. I just got one for H to try different harness and stabilizers.

Thank you a lot! I will visit them on Facebook tomorrow and see, what I can get.Owned-By-Hendrix wrote:Check out K9 Working Dogs Dallas on Facebook - there may be gopro footage there. I just got one for H to try different harness and stabilizers.
I hope you don't get dizzy with all his stunt's "roll overs" and other absolute crazy stuff.but i would love to see the world from Wega's perspective [ WegaWorld ?].
I would love to, but I don't have the money in a few months. I have to pay the Vet bill for my white Shepherd (about 4500 Euro)...
But maybe after that...I think about a Cam...is there a better one outside than GoPro?
Does anyone have experience about that?
I would love to make some Vids for you - it only takes a little bit to get a cam

Re: Dog sport and action cameras
GoPro and Sony ActionCam are the only ones I'm aware of with good experience, and GoPro being the more popular of the two I think because it has so many accessories and is much smaller. If you're not worried about quality then you could get a goPro 3 or 3+ and be fine. They just came out with Gopro 4 and I don't think size wise there's a huge difference so all the accessories shoukd work. Gopro 3 was smaller than the gopro 2 so the accessories needed to be changed.
There's all kinds of dog harnesses for the two and I think places like Elitek9 and ray allen sell additional camera mounts for their harnesses.
