I saw a listing for a six month old DS in Louisiana whose sire and dam listed were her dogs, so she sold at least one of them. Also, the sire of those pups was bought from CherCar and was only seven months old when she bred them.

So these pups can't be from her unless she has another dog that she bred in Jan or Feb, right? Because it takes six months for another heat?
I could've swore she had pups available in April and the pups looked young in the pics. Perhaps she was using old ones. I had no idea that the puddles palace was a multi-breed place/semi-puppy mill. Had you heard of her when you lived in Capac? It's sad that a Cher Car dog ended up with her. Cheryl has such nice dogs and is so involved with them.

No, I hadn't heard of her when I was there. As near as I can figure from her facebook page, she only has the two, but I could certainly be wrong. And judging by the comments on her pic of the DS mom with the puppies from December, she's only doing it to make money because she spends so much money breeding her damn bulldogs. Looks like she breeds Corgis and Chihuahuas, too.

And horses.

I don't understand. If a "breeder" couldn't sell them for 1200, how is dumping them better than getting a couple hundred? Do they have too much white in them? I didn't think so, since I've seen as much white on the dogs from CherCar, but Mobil has two white tipped feet, I don't know if that's a fault or not.

I don't like her, and I've never met her. I think she's the epitome of an irresponsible breeder. She was encouraging Dutch shepherd ownership with this blurb:

"Great bloodlines these dogs shed less than a reg shepherd they are great with the family yet have the power to be great protection dogs. They are used more and more for police dogs as they don't have the hip problems."

It's making me want ask at CherCar what they think about them and whether they've heard of a litter born around April ish of this year in the general area.

But I get het up about injustices and assholery, so ...

They panic, or get in over their head with a bunch of puppies getting older and destroying things. They may also sell them on craigslist for cheap and those owners end up dumping them because they're not prepared for a real working dog. A litter of puppies starts to get real expensive real fast and sometimes people just try to cut their losses quickly. I helped with a malinois litter over in Ohio a few years ago. The woman had dogs from great lines, but bred them without any idea, thinking people and cops would be running to her and would pay $1000 a puppy. Nobody responded to her ad. She sold 3 on craigslist for a few hundred, gave another away free, and dumped the remaining 4 girls at a shelter as they ganged up and killed all of her cats. The free one on craigslist is luckily with a well known Groendael breeder/trainer and one of the ones sold on craigslist later got dumped at another shelter, I pulled her and brought her to live in Chicago with a trainer friend of mine. The 4 girls all got pulled by ABMCR eventually.

People think that these dogs are rare and see that breeders are getting $1200-$2000, but there really aren't that many people interested in getting a Dutch Shepherd, even from a good breeder or even for just a few hundred. Not many people know about the breed, not many can handle them. A lot of the working breeders hold a dog or two back and put tons of additional training and work into them to sell as they mature, or they have working contracts with police departments or private sector narcotic teams and have that planned long before a breeding takes place and any remaining "pet" puppies will go to a previous puppy buyer, or someone looking to get into competition work.

As for too much white, that really isn't a problem. The standard allows for it on the chest and toes. Most of these dogs are bred for working purposes anyway, so the white doesn't matter. Odin has a very large white spot on his chest, and his toe tips are white. Elli has a small white spots on her chest. There really aren't that many DS in conformation shows anyway, so I doubt puppy buyers are that concerned about it when looking for a dog.

that is Sadies story, a guy wanted to make a quick buck, bred the dogs, sold some and dumped the rest. This is also where problems get bred into the lines. Sadie has double HD, so It was a good thing I didnt have big plans for her.

People suck.

Turbo's ears are up now! Just this morning when we let them out of the library, she comes bouncing out with her goofy ears staying in place.

I contacted Carole from CherCar and she's going to see if she can find out if anyone had a litter of DS pups around the beginning of April. She said most of their pups don't go to locals, which I think is good because that narrows it down.

I'm hoping that more pups weren't dumped. If they were sold as able to be registered with UKC, and the people who bought the others register them, would that show up on a public registry?

Not that this is some sting operation or anything (LOL), I don't know what I'm really hoping for, other than maybe finding out that someone hasn't caused the death or abuse of more puppies with their negligence. It just makes me so mad. Breeding is supposed to be for the improvement of the breed and furthering good lines, not because ZOMG rare breed MUNNIES.

Wow can't believe I seen this crap about me U People saying u don't know me but don't like me either omg that's so crazy
I had 1 litter of Dutch puppies and we're all sold as pets only for 1200 I don't think that was giving them away at all. And the sire is now a police dog for your info so I couldn't be that bad to raise one of them huh
This crap kills me about the world and people some just have to bitch about something not even knowing anything they r b itching about.
I have raided dogs for 16 years and have had a few different kinds I'm a licensed kennel inspected every year with flying colors .
The Dutch were to much dog for us at the time so cher car has my girl that she breeds as well and now my male reggie is a working police dog. So please find some thing better to do with your time then talk about people u have no clue about.
God bless your souls and be happy in life were only here a short time to be so angry. :)

I would be shocked if anyone will take you seriously with all that textspeak, run-on sentences, and other miscellaneous syntax errors. After all, it's not 2003 and no one is paying by the letter anymore to text/email so there's zero justification for such mangling of the English language. Writing like the adult you are will go a long ways towards garnering sympathy for your plight. Heck, writing like an adult increases the chances your entire message will actually be read to even know you have a plight.

Never mind if you'd just let that sleeping dog lie, it'd still be asleep. Congratulations on bumping yourself to the top of the folder and everyone's mind after > 1 year has passed since the wrOP.

Finally, a USDA inspected and licensed kennel ≠ moral or ethical breeder who is breeding to the betterment of a breed. It means you have so many breeding animals you must have government oversight and regulation to insure you meet the minimum health and safety standards necessary to keep your animals alive and you out of the hoosegow for animal cruelty. In other words, I wouldn't brag about or highlight as a selling point managing to satisfactorily meet a bar set so high one can step over it.

Hey, genius, no one ever said you dumped puppies. And this post is over a year old. Reading comprehension is your friend.
