- Tell us about yourself: I have five dogs: Alex, a chow mix who is now about 14, and four Dutch shepherds (all rescued DS): Ku (Hawaiian God of War), Kane (sounds like "Kahnay"; Hawaiian God of the Sun), Kanaloa (Hawaiian God of the Sea) and Kapua (Hawaiian gods of mischief - the Mischief Makers). Alex is our cheerleader and keeps the 4 DS in line. Three of the DS currently compete in DockDogs and we are trying to convince Lo that water is not evil. Our team name is Hawaiian by Heart which comes from the old joke by my husband that he is "Dutch by blood, Hawaiian by Heart." Our main goal is to promote having fun with your dog (and by doing so becoming partners) and supporting the rescue of the wonderful animals out there in need of homes.
We lost our big lady, Kelley, in May 2012 to cancer and she joins several other angel dogs who are now watching over us. - Location: Denver, Colorado

I should try saying that just to see their reaction although for many I think it would go right by them or they would think I was joking. The scariest incident to date is when we were in Vegas and I had just taken him off the dock after Speed Retrieve and in that discipline I have to get a bumper away from him right after so they can hang it again which of course makes Ku really angry. So I get it away from him and we're at the bottom of the stairs when I turn around to find a little girl (about 7 years old) coming towards us with her hand out as if to pet him. Of course I was startled and shook my head and told her "No! No! No! Not now!" Best part was her mom was standing nearby and was watching the whole thing. 
It's one thing to approach a dog in a "low key" situation but to come up to a dog who is essentially working and not to mention barking and carrying on like he might die (the noises that come out of him are unbelievable) is a sign of insanity and/or colossal poor judgment.
On the funny side, I had a lady at the same event sneak up on us in our tent and as I am standing there with Ku while he is barking and whining his head off she is kneeling down and talking baby talk to him: "Hi Doggie...ohhhh what's the matter? What's wrong Doggie? Ohhhh, it's okay Doggie!"
Ku just ignored her and kept looking AROUND her since she was standing in the way of his view of the dock.

OMG! Dumb and Dumber story:
This past fall, I worked an outdoor fundraiser for a local shelter and people could bring their dogs. A small woman (Crazy Lady A) tromps in with two young BCs both of which are acting overwhelmed (one moreso than the other). Crazy Lady A herself seems overwhelmed and gives the less stressed of the BCs to someone else to handle. Crazy Lady A is quickly rushed by Crazy Lady B where both women sandwich the poor dog and loom over him, then squat down. Now Crazy Lady B is face-to-face and the BC is really taxed. Dog maintains, somehow, but is close to a meltdown. A lot of other people and dogs around, new environment, smells, music, etc.
A little bit later, Crazy Lady A, with her dog huddled behind her, is approached by Crazy Lady C and her dog (whose own dog had already bitten her). Crazy Lady A pulls the scared BC out from behind her, forcing her to interact with Crazy Lady C and her nutso dog. Crazy Lady C looms over BC, talking baby talk, and then reaches out to the sitting BC. Just as I said: "THAT DOG'S GONNA BITE--" it did. Everyone acted surprised (the dog gave CLEAR signals), the owner got twisted in the lead as she tried to CORRECT the BC, dropped the lead, where Crazy Lady C picked it up and in doing so, her biting dog and the BC both got loose.
I walked out of there with multiple Dumb and Dumber stories. I've never done dog parks (they seem inherently evil to me because of people) and had never been exposed to so much CONCENTRATED stupidity by so many in such a short period of time.
I had to walk some rich man's Bernese mountain dog and corgi (he got them because their colors matched and they looked like Mutt and Jeff together) to his car because he was too drunk. He had let both dogs off lead all night; the corgi challenged and snapped at every dog IT approached.
A woman constantly poppin' her few month old pup on prong (worn incorrectly) every time the pup so much as moved his head.
ETC., ETC.
