So you have never owned a DS, know next to nothing about the breed, needed to ask people on an internet forum to help you find breeders, and now you're buying two puppies to possibly breed together?

Is it just me or is this all completely ass hat backwards? Really, sorry to rain on the parade, getting a pup is always exciting.. but seriously???

Hi Choochi,

I had make a lot of homework for the breed DS as I know since 6 years that one day I will earn some.
My friend was a DS breeder but now she had stop.
So she help me to find good reputable breeders , we are on that project till 2 years so bEFORE MAKING YOUR OWN CONCLUSION ASK ME....

And I had ask a few time if someone could told me a breeder in USA which have DS registerd ! I found nothing what I wish.

Also I ask often about Ds topics.

I'm on the forum till a few weeks yes ! But I'm not GREEN in the dog world.
Before you message, I found your DS FORUM helpful and VERY open to HELP....

Thanks for addressing my valid concerns in such a mature way. It's always nice to see a breeder who can turn some one's concern for the welfare of a breed/dogs into a personal attack of their own worth especially when it's followed by an irrational emotional rant full of caps lock. Hate to see what will happen when some one ever has less then perfect comment or suggestion about one of your future dogs.

I think that your post was for me especially ! Not for someone else so it's normal that I'm concern...
I try to explain you that I had make a lot of research and take a lot of information concerning the DS breed since 6 years ,it's not a "daily wish" .

I'm not perfect at all but I do my best and I'm on th DS Forum to learn more as most of people I don't know everything and I have the interest to learn more each day.

You attack my personnally by thinking that I know nothing about the breed or breeder or anything, SO, yes I take it personal, maybe it's my english which isn't good enough to understand the second degree of your post !
Sorry I'm not GOD and I'm always interest to learn about dogs things.
Maybe, I will fall down with 2 DS pups at the same time nobody knows !
The future will told you.

I have found and meet the ring club close to me who had all ready start to teach me some new things.
I know personally most of this club members so the contact is really easy and they know me and what I can do or what I have to improve with my dogs.

I'm also active member of a ScH club, Obedience club and rally-O + agility club too.
I think that I have a lot of good reference persons to help in this new target.

Be sure,that when I have question I'll ask the Forum to give me their own idea.

Jbou, I have to agree with Marjolein and also a bit with Choochi.
You may have done your homework, but you have never had a DS, and what you ordered is NOT from bloodlines that are for decoration only. While I do know that it is more economical to import two pups at the same time, vs one, I too think that it is a bit enthusiastic to plan a breeding pair out of your first pups?
You get to prove us nay sayers wrong, but yes, I too worry that you are not equipped to make all the right choices just yet. The dam of the female has a B for a hip rating, not something that one should be thrilled about. I hope that both pups work out to everybodies total satisfaction, health wise, and tempement wise and I hope for you that you are equipped to handle the kind of pup that you may be receiving. Since you no doubt understand what it means to be a responsible advocate for a breed, I am sure you understand the concern.

When people can't just be happy about news for a person who share with us it's no place for spending more time.

For your personal information,I'll not saving money as the pup will flight alone not together.

I will go meet the pups before they will coming back home to be sure that they are what I want and wish as temper to work with me.SO , again no saving money ....

And my friends who really knows me ,will visit the breeders a few time before I will coming. And she knows the DS breed as she had breed and train the Gendarmerie.

I don't plan to breed them before 4 years as I have other target than pups for them !

For sure ,I'm equipped to handle this kind of pups (mentally and physcilly) .
I work a lot from September to end of March to be able to take the rest of the year only for my dogs.
I can't live with "decorative dogs" all my dogs now and past are working dogs which have to perform first at all.

But it,s always easy to make opinion instead to ask question directly to the person:-(

My post to you, Jbou, was kind. I pointed out that, as a responsible breeder, I was sure that you would understand the concern that some of us have. And it is up to you to prove that we had no cause to worry about you. Again, you post a pretty rude response (and I am sure I was not rude to you)
I did PM you, quite some time ago, BTW, but is was you who never fealt the need to respond. That's perfectly fine, BTW, but please don't post that we should address you off forum only. This is a community who loves their dogs. We are allowed to speak our minds and voice some concerns. I hope you stay here and share your experiences with us, but your defensive attitude is really not warranted. Some of us have a great deal of experience with the bloodlines that you are about to import. You might get some good pups, I truly hope so for you, but you cannot possibly fully know what to expect, since you have no experience with these lines. So how about you take the comments for what they are? Just concern. How bad can that be?

sorry but as I told probably my english is not good enough to explain myself without being rude which is not what I want.
I never want to offense anybody, I just try to show that I don't want 2 pups to save money or making easy money by breeding, and that I had a good person who will go meet the litter to make a good choice concerning temper and all other cue.I'm not alone on that road.
I agree that I don't have any experience with those lines but my friends yes.
This is why I find this forum useful and any help or positive advise are welcome.
I'll love to share DS news with all of you as I like to read a lot of posts from different subject.
