Denise...it's easy to fix that problem. Create a signature so that everytime it signs it for you. Don't know how? It's easy! :) http://www.dutchshepherdforum.com/viewt ... p?f=8&t=54

"I would love to hear the experts opinions about the deadly copperhead bite. "

I don't know, but having been into Dobermans for years, I do know they have all sorts of *serious* health issues. If "quality" means show lines, 'nuff said. Any idea if this one had von Willebrand's, as so many do? (vWD--66% are carriers or affected.) A lot of medications can induce bleeding. Stress, too. I would suspect vWD as much as the the snakebite. Even the treatment for a bite could cause all sorts of problems with vWD. I suppose they were positive it was a copperhead? After Rita I would suspect water moccasins, too. 'Course here in swampy Caddo Lake country in East Texas, I have caught copperheads in my yard as big as a chicken snake  Like John Wayne said, everything here will stick ya, bite ya or sting ya. Or something like that.

There were some bizarre rumours when I was a kid about Dobermans going crazy because of some sort of brain issue, but I have never read anything scientific about that bit of talk. I would have to do research on that one.

Y'all need to come to Texas--we are working on the secession part--we can show you some wonderful country here! You know part of the deal when Texas joined the Union was that we got to keep our own navy. We still have it. My ex used to teach on the TS (Texas Ship) Texas Clipper.

Oops. I called Denise Leih. :? Sorry Leih. I did not mean to accuse you of stooping so low as to like this big@ss state down here. :hic:

 But let's be honest. I may get in trouble for this with the list elders (hope not!) but it is not all wonderful in Texas either. My law enforcing husband told me the other day, that by law a woman in this State may only have 6 vibrators. More than that, and it will be considered dealing.
(what? In slightly used ones? Would there be a market for that?) :yernuts:
And I thought they made sense for still having tough laws for horse thieving and cattle rustling. Some other things? Maybe not so much. :lmao:
If I offended anyone...sorry. The liberated Dutch in me still comes out at times.

I actually think I'd think parts of Texas are very beautiful. But, I can't take the extreme heat and the additional critters and vermin...fire ants? Scorpions? I have enough trouble dealing with ticks and spiders (the only thing I'm truly phobic about is spiders).

Also, I wouldn't fit in in that state. I'd probably get myself lynched  . I am way too liberal and progressive.

I have a younger brother, tho, who adores Texas. He's a fundamentalist Christian and feels right at home there  .

Pretty funny about the vibrators...I am such a fish...I"m assuming it's true, but you may be pulling my leg (very easy to do!)

Yeh, the deadly snake was a copperhead as the Doberman had killed it. This friend was an active Dob rescuer and she had a range of quality of dogs through her place, some very poor. This one dog did come from show lines. I am not a Dob person but I did like this particular dog. And she did have a few that came thru with vWD but not this boy. I didnt get any more details because at this same time after Rita, they had to move her husband from a nursing home to Houston and within three days he also died. So she lost her husband, her favorite dog, severe damage to her home and kennels and moved in with family til repairs could be made. Oh and she was trying to foster out her rescues. :help:

Bingo, Judith (no-mans land)!!! I have tried to get my hubby to retire on Toledo Bend, TX side, but he says no.

Thanks Eric, I will get my signature line set up. That way I dont have to remember who I am each time! :wtg: Oh my I just went to the 'view more smilies'!! Gotta use some of them.

Bye, the end. :bum:

Oh and Judith, the only offense to me is that I am sure with the limit of 6, it is because of the size, EVERYTHING is bigger in TEXAS!! Louisiana has no limit! :wtg: Ok, I have said enough.

No hunny, it ain't. You cross that border with your husband, and it will still be the very same ole' husband, no dramatic sudden changes, sorry. :player: Only waistline expantion may happen over time but no state is immune to that, or so I hear. :duh:

Leih. I am pretty darn serious about the legal limit. You might need to warn your brother. :bum:
