Eva...I"m not sure where I got this collar, someplace in CT. I try to remember to take it off when it's raining or for swimming...just like you said, the leather rotts too easily.
Nice pics of dogs eating eggs!

- Tell us about yourself: We adopted our beautiful Maverick in September 2011. We have been told he could be so many different shepherd crosses but after googling Dutch Shepherds, reading descriptions and looking at pics, we're pretty sure he's a full Dutch Shepherd.

Re: Geyser Loves Eggs!
I had to give Maverick an egg after watching the vid and reading this thread. Mavy did pretty much the same thing as Geyser does. He gently took the egg then ran to his fave spot in the backyard and put it down, he very gently tried to bite it and it didn't work. He then ran to a different spot in the yard gently carrying the egg, he finally managed to break a hole in it then licked it until all the egg was gone and ate the shell. I still can't get over how gentle he was,it's almost like he knew the egg would break and make a mess.
Christine, Chris and Maverick.

- Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind.
Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32.

Lyric gets her eggs raw scrambled because she has to share it with her little sister.

So, like, is there an egg shortage in your area?alspyce wrote:Lyric gets her eggs raw scrambled because she has to share it with her little sister.

- Tell us about yourself: 40 something mom of 3 sons, 2 living....mother of one beagle girl, Puddles age 9 and our yet to be determined "shepherd" type girl Beta, age 2. Beta was rescued from an area no-kill shelter and was assumed to be a GSD/Greyhound mix, perhaps? I sure cannot find anything greyhound about the girl, sought out Brindle Shepherds and came across the DS, and began to wonder.....she is the absolute best dog anyone could want.

Re: Geyser Loves Eggs!
This video and all of your stories were so cute, so we just had to try it. Sure enough, Beta just loved the eggs! Just like the rest of your pups, she took it ever so gingerly in her mouth. But, she licked and licked that egg, rolled it around in the grass. Finally we just put a tiny hole on one end so she could get a taste. Pretty soon she made that hole a bit bigger and quickly gobbled up the insides. Then she ran over and ate Puddles' egg....she only ate a wee bit of shell though....
We'll be trying this again to see if she figured it all out with this one try. (pretty sure she'll do it, she's a pretty smart girl)
