Re: Demon, mirrors, dog boarding
Sorry if you've stated this here or in another thread, but where is Demon with focus? Is he focusing on the treat or on you?
Though I can only hope to become the person who my animals believe I am, the things that they have taught me have made me a better human being. ~~~Sharon~~~

Re: Demon, mirrors, dog boarding
ive made doubly sure to make sure the focus is on me, the treats arnt shown or presented untill he complies with whatever im asking of him. he has to look right up at me and listen when im telling him to sit ect or the treat will be with held (i wont repeat the command ill just wait, then when he regains focus immediately comes the super happy "good boyyy!" followed with treat/ball/pull rope ect ).
the training sessions just seem to last alot longer when the treats are something worth his while, he really enjoys it.
the hot dog pieces will be deployed tomorrow for recall, he tends to gravitate twards the stable a few doors down from his while im busy cleaning out his run first thing in the morning, hes definitely not welcome down there but the temptation for him to be a nuisance has proved strong.
was working on getting him back with a single "demon" in a calm tone with scraps of chicken given when he complied, but the scraps were too small.
