OMG she's gorgeous, looks very similar to my girl, curious to see where she's from.

Good illustration Lisa. I do not mean to confuse by use of strange terms. Just did not stop (heh heh) to consider that it might be a strange term to some.
The stop is the drop in the line that goes from the top of the forehead to the bridge of the nose.
For a DS, you would hope for two parallell lines, rather than a gentler transition.
I will see if I have examples. (I bet Marjolein has good pics that would illustrate it)

Edit:
Look at Marjolein's male "Dingo" You can see the parallell lines and the drop off between it. That drop is called the stop.

The "stop" is where the skull changes to muzzle. There's that short drop and the muzzle is parallel to the top of the skull.

Les/Kathy, received your email and responded, I think. This computer at work is ancient and a lot gets lost in cyberspace or wherever. That's why I rarely post photos because once I get home from work, train and care for my boarders plus my own pack and farm animals, no time left to get on mine at home.

Daisy, the bloodhound is surely a tracking machine! A close training buddy had one for years that was a dream to watch in action. Couldnt do much else not even obedience, but when it came to tracking, none could compare.

Agreed, Daisey will sit and down when she wants to and when she hits a hot track, hold on. She is 95 pounds and hard as a rock, the strongest dog I have ever been behind. I have actually seen her dig up the ground on a hot track.

Dasie is beautiful!! I love to watch my Basset track....well, she does track squirrels and cookies. LOL, once they have a scent thats it, there is no stopping them.

Now i have to look at my girls to see the "stop"
