- Tell us about yourself: Had a GSD, am getting a DS puppy in a few weeks. Compete in agility, obedience, and cross train in tons of stuff. Found out about this site from the DS Rescue yahoo list.
Re: Puppies!!!
Isn't it amazing how quickly they grow? It always blows me away.
He sounds like he has a wonderful temperament for your family!

You're right, he is adorable to be honest. Sometimes Floor and Bas, who are ten and three years old now, don't always appreciate him being arround and try to keep him on a certain distance by grawling at him but he is never under the impression and keeps coming back to them, a little shy and obedient though as it should be.leih merigian wrote:Isn't it amazing how quickly they grow? Tomorrow he will have his first puppytraining at the dogschool so that will be another important experience for him allthough we theach him things every day at home of course. He already knows the terrain because we toke him there several times for socializing and he was allowed to play with the other puppies that were on training at the time.
My wife will do the training by the way and I will take some pictures from this first lesson.

Today we made some more pictures while making a nice walk through our backyard. Joep is four months old now and he is growing rapidly as you can see. But in his behaviour he is still a ''youngster'' and we're happy about that.

- Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.
Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!
I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences. - Location: Victoria BC

Wow, it always amazes me when I see the group photos...how do you get them all to stay still for the shot?

Joep is almost six months old now and he becomes a very fine dog with a great character, he is developing very good. Yesterday we were recieving a compliment at the dogtraining for his great behaviour and te way he is learning things. We are convinced he will become a very fine dog once he has grown uo. Meanwhile we enjoy watching him grow up between our other two dogs Floor and Bas, together they are e great couple. Someday soon I will start doing a special training to do dogshows with him in oreder to try to get some good showresults (and for the fun of it, that is also very important).
Here are some of the most recent pictures:

What beautiful faces and coats. I can't believe how much Joep has grown. Doesn't seem that long ago you were posting baby pics, and how look at him!

Re: Puppies!!!
But he still behaves like a puppy, every day is another challenge.
And by the way he walks and runs around he look very clumsy. :dswink" It's great to have him around and he comes along really good with Floor and Bas. At the training he makes very good progress each lesson and last saturday Nel and Joep got compliments from a senior trainer at the club telling her that Joep has developed himself into a very social and keen puppy. He's learning fast and we do a lot of practice at home as it is ment to be of course but ''forgotten'' by many dog owners.
