Hi from Cambodia

Post by kidkhmer »

Hi There,
I live in Cambodia and joined to learn more about the DS before I decide on my next dog. I just lost my GSD in tragic circumstances and while researching the internet trying to find a GSD or Malinois breeder in South East Asia I came across http://www.siamcrowndog.com and that really opened my eyes  to the beauty of the DS.I think they would go great here in Cambodia with our climate so I am thinking about jumping the fence from a GSD to a DS and I never thought I'd say that !

thanks KK

Hi KK,

First, my condolences on the loss of your GSD :( . I, too, was a GSD peson before getting my DS, and while I will always love certian working line GSDs, I'm now quite in love with this breed.

That website is pretty awesome. I checked out the male Arras dog, and really liked him a lot. Didn't spend much more time there, but they sure look like a good possibility for a beeder to consider.

What would your plans be for a DS? Do you engage in sports or other activities?

And, what does KK stand for? :D

Glad you found us. Lots of knowledgeable folks around here...

Welcome KK. I believe you might be the first member from Asia. Cool. 8-)
Yes, Siam Crown has a brindle collection and I always love seeing the exotic (to me) pictures of theirs.

Welcome, KK. DS are a bit different than any GSD's I have ever known. Of course no one will be like the one that you lost :( .

Thanks for the link. Now I am forced to add Thailand to my list of places I must visit before I die! What a beautiful facility they have and the Dutch Shepherds are GORGEOUS!

Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind.
Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32.
Can't wait for all the snow to get gone! Spring is coming too slow this year!

Welcome, I was actually looking to get a GSD when I came across the DS. I had never heard of them before, then started looking at pictures and thought they were so beautiful. I have met alot of nice people on here that are very helpful and experienced with the breed. Hopefully you will be able to find a pup that is right for you :)

Welcome, KK.

How interesting that this forum has encompassed the world with kindred spirit for the Dutch Shepherd.

Do keep us posted on your quest.
