Hmmm. A best butt contest? Eric may ban us all She was much more "Starry" before her furnishings started coming in....don't make me shave her.

She is doing really well. VERY teenagery at the moment, but I am in the midst of raising two human teenagers, so I don't take it personally. She looks unsure in these photos because we just added back feet and she was really happier with the front feet.

I sure love this little wonder. I feel like i am keeping up with a three year old , but with a teenagers attitude and a distance runners stamina.......

Oh my goodness she is so adorable!! You can see how happy and proud of herself she is!! Good job raising her! Love the one of her standing on the terra cotta discs...very inventive!

Nice shots...especially of the Van Gogh butt and foot placement on the planter bottoms. Um...but doesn't she try to "lend assistance" or supervise when you're engaged in gardening?

If not already, another thing that you could do with garden pots is teach her to tell you under which one is a treat (paw it, stand in front of the planter with the treat, or....).

I used the planters with Thor. I also use both fists with a treat in one. Same as with the planters, he has to sniff then paw the appropriate hand/planter. It's a nice switch-up for him from regular searches.

Oh, yes she is VERY helpful. she has distributed my tomato stakes to all corners of the yard. She actually will dig a hole if I take one scoop of dirt out and tell her to "dig". And if she sees me weed, she starts to take mouthfuls... if I could only teach her whats a weed and whats a good plant...

Here is what she decided to do this week.... CLean the leaves out of her favorite watering hole ... and then out of my fountain (yes, she does have good water at the house, but it apparently isn't the same ).

She is a funny girl! ALWAYS thinking!!!!!

About the weeding....

Much of the details are presently escaping me, but there was a working GSD who had to retire early due to health problems (agility related, I believe?), but needed a job nonetheless. In much the same way that your DS continues to weed once you begin, this was how the GSD got their new job: official weed picker.

They were shown which plants in the gardens and fields were "bad" and the owner never had to weed again. She was ever-vigilant, even mouthing the ground for a weed just barely above ground level. Took the new job very seriously.

Holy crap I LOVE that. I was very diligent with my garden for about a month. Then....not so much. The problem is, its mostly grass that tries to grow in there. If I taught my dogs to pick that then I would have no lawn. Sigh. I suppose I actually have to do something for myself.

How the hell can you even have a yard with all those dogs? Come on--who are you kiddin'?

The husband used to fret over the condition of the backyard, but he got over it. Thor goes full-throttle out there, tearing up the sod all over. (I mean the earth FLIES up under his feet--just like wolves.) Makes it hard to mow 'cause so much of the sod just rolls around under the mower. I used to talk big plans for that backyard, wanting to make it serene and cottage-like--but who was I kidding!? Thor's the perfect excuse.
