Children reading to dogs

The taill waggers reading program is one of the programs of TDI that I have been wanting to do with Thalie. My local library wont allow dogs
But one town over does and I just sealed the deal. In April Thalie will have children reading to her. My daughter has cuddled up to Thalie and has been reading to her for ever so im sure she will just love it.

awww, that is so sweet that your daughter is reading to Thalie. They must have a really special bond. And congrats to you sealing the deal!! Really nice!!. Thaile is going to be "well read" - ha-ha!!

A lady I know wants me to do that with my Laekenois. He never gets enough attention, in his opinion.

I am really excited, I have been wanting to do that since Thalie passed. We go to an assisted living place in town once a week and Thalie likes it, we go from person to person and she gets attention then after a few times she just lays down. The kids are going to love her, they can snuggle with her and curl right up to her and read. Ill have to get some pictures.

Go Thalie! Kids are much less afraid to Read Aloud when they read to a dog. I can remember being soooo stressed in grade school when I had to read to the class.

My daughter loves to read to Thalie, that is the theory behind it is that the kids are more relaxed and want to read. Im sure Thalie will just fall asleep.

What a great program! I have read where children with reading difficulties in a normal classroom setting excell upon reading to a dog. Keep us posted please!
