This is one of Panzer's favorite sleeping positions! He loves to sleep with his head hanging off the side of something...dog bed, crate, sofa, etc...
He's such a funny dog!
Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.
Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!
I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.
Tell us about yourself: I am a mom of 6 life forces - 2 kids and 3 dogs 1 hamster. I live in Ct. I have trained Ringsport and Agility and have 2 DS, one 15 and 7 and a Basset Hound Cookie who is 2
Good think My coffee is down, thats a spit out my coffee pose! How Funny!!! My parents basset does the same thing, her head is always hanging off of their bed. I wonder if puppies are like babies, when the babies fall asleep, their brain shuts off.
Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind. Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32. Can't wait for all the snow to get gone! Spring is coming too slow this year!
Funny. Looks like he was worked until he had to collapse.
Though I can only hope to become the person who my animals believe I am, the things that they have taught me have made me a better human being. ~~~Sharon~~~
Tell us about yourself: My name is Katrina, I have 1 dutch shepherd name Merlin. He is a handful and keeps things in our house very interesting and fun :)
Tell us about yourself: Had a GSD, am getting a DS puppy in a few weeks. Compete in agility, obedience, and cross train in tons of stuff. Found out about this site from the DS Rescue yahoo list.
So cute! You'll be glad for every puppy picture you took...

Hahaha...I agree...they grow up so fast! Panzer is 4.5 months old now and has grown and changed before my eyes! I wish I had more photos of him when he was really little!
Here is another one of him from today in his favorite sleeping position..
Today he discovered that he can jump in my backyard fountains, which are just wine barrels cut in half with trickling water from a spout...he was having so much fun! I think I have a water dog! His sire has a Dock Diving title, maybe it runs in his blood? lol
Tell us about yourself: Rescued our first DS male on Dec 27, 2011. Approx 4 yrs. Rescued from NADSR. His name is Odin. Adopted a 2nd DS from NADSR June 27, 2012. Kai - 6 months.

Yeah! The only other time he looks so calm and peaceful is when he is sitting in his spot (which is the corner closest to me) when I am preparing his food. He has the sweetest intent look on his face when he is waiting for his dinner....I love his beady brown eyes!

He looks nice, any awake pics of him?
Aaawww! Seven! I envy you! I am so enamoured with Dutch Shepherds now that I own one, I could see myself owning more than one some day! I don't have any good recent pics of him awake, he moves too fast, lol! But, I have a video of him and my GSD down at my local park...he isn't doing anything exciting, but it shows him awake at least! lol Oh, and he is familiar and friendly with the Golden Retriever "Gus" in the video, just so you know I don't let him run up on any strange dog down at the park!! God forbid! http://s176.photobucket.com/albums/w183 ... 0009-1.mp4

I "own" 9 at this moment (7 are pups and will leave us in about a week) But the pups love sleeping with their heads danglin'down from something/someone Ofcourse they also need all the blood to go their to grow their brain as fast as they can...little buggers...
