What's Everyone Feed?

Probably one of the most unoriginal topics ever, but I'm a dog food nerd. LOL.
Since I probably won't be able to feed raw [or complete raw anyway, lack of space sucks!], I'm looking for dry foods or raw dehydrated.

My French Britt is on Canidae despite me wanting something more, my mom pays for her food and would rather see her on Purina or Iams. So no complaints on that one! I do like EVO though I am slightly scared as I believe it was bought by P&G? I also really like Addiction, nomnomnom.

well, according to my son, I feed my dogs dead people.

I feed my girls raw, i dont have alot of space either so I go to the grocery store once, sometimes twice a week for the sales.

Before I did raw I fed them purina, I fed Eukanuba for a while.

Raw here too. My local grocer loves me. I always buy the "Special" meat/liver. I have space but hardly ever use it... It is the time and having to thin ahead that are tough for me.

Natural Balance limited ingredient grain free Sweet Potato and Fish. Am thinking about switching to raw...but it scares me with the grossness, and getting it "right".

I was there too Sue, I was so afraid of the bones, it still is gross though, especially liver and gooy things. I have a scale and weigh the food most of the time but you do learn to eye it. Once you start you realize its really easy.

Here's a site someone here had mentioned to look at for raw feeding.

This page rates the kibble quality.

I keep forgetting that the puppy might possibly be 3 times the size of Replay...
My aunt sells it at her place, which is the only way my teenager butt could afford it! Money trees need to grow faster.

That's just too funny! I hope he's not saying that at school---he'll never get friends to come play at your house!

I feed raw everything---whatever is on sale. Also make my own yogurt and use Brad's vinegar and DE.

Whoa, I forgot about the fridge down in my room, that has an entire freezer not being used. Maybe, just maybe I could at least get a few raw meals for the pup!

Raw here as well.. but our kibbles of choice before that war Orijen fish and Go Naturals chicken. They also get an occasional meal of Honest Kitchen (dehydrated raw).

We feed them dry food with a little bit of bread (only in the morning) and twice a week with some meet.

We do a limited ingredient chicken & rice kibble (California Naturals), a little defrosted green veg and canned pumpkin, a sprinkle of dog yeast supplement to counteract the alkalinity of the veg/rice, and a scoop of one of the Wellness 95% meat cans (chicken most often but we're trying to get him acclimated to eating other meats too).

He gets beef liver as treats (rather plentifully). He also loves peanut butter, but that's an extra special treat since it's so messy.

This formula took months to work out - Zane has a super-sensitive stomach and reacts badly to many ingredients suggested for dogs with digestive troubles (lamb, oatmeal, sweet potato, salmon). It seems like the extra fiber from the veggies is helpful for him.

Wellness (or similar high end kibble) mixed with Honest Kitchen (raw dehydrated). The Honest Kitchen makes a big difference in her coat. I also throw in whatever veggies I have on hand.

I'm vegan and I work at a vet - so thats a double no on feeding raw meat...my vets are always super cautious about raw because of all the bacteria. I'm not particularly squeamish but I prefer not to have too much meat in my kitchen.

I too am a dog food nerd - I could stand in the pet food aisles for hours like a weirdo.

Aubrey! Nice to see another vegan on here! Of course, vegan dutch shepherd owners are probably a pretty exclusive club - wonder if there's anyone else?
