I managed to squeeze a tennis ball inside of a hollee roller, and it's Zane's favorite toy ever. He's been running around the house with it (with minimal input from me) for the past half hour (usually we'll fetch or tug for a few minutes and then he'll go into his crate).



and then, true to form, into his crate:

I think Lyric would just chew her way through to the ball. (Tennis balls aren't allowed here because of the choke factor.)
Maybe under strict supervision, a way to keep her brain occupied for awhile tho!

I tried that using a dog biscuit...one just big enough that it wouldn't fall out. Kept Sugar busy for 15 min or so until she could got it out the first time. Second time, it was out in 2 sec (she figured out how to squish the ball against the wall so she can bite the cookie to break into small enough pieces that fall through the holes).

They are just too smart!

yeah, this is his third or fourth hollee roller - eventually they wind up in tiny pieces.

Ha! I just put a little tennis ball in the holey ball and sugar is having a blast! She is trying the trick she uses with the dog cookie to get it out but it doesnt work with the ball. But she sure is havi g a "ball" right now playing with it. Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome! Has she managed to get her feet stuck in it yet? Zane's been trying to use a paw in conjunction with his teeth and then winds up having to figure out how to get his foot out of the ball.

The things our poor dogs have to put up with just to amuse us humans! Maybe I'll try this one (with supervision), sounds like a good laugh.

I was surprised how amusing he's finding it! Still going strong while I get ready for work this morning.

ha HA,,, I love those skinny hollee roller balls. Geyser cuts thru a new one in less than a week...we've been trying out the heavier one (still in a smaller size, I htink medium), and it's lasing so much longer, but it's harder to toss/throw (the holes are smaller, which I use to stick my fingers in and then wing it)

Another cheap idea I'vwe been saving up...take your old holey sox (yes, gram, the one's I'm NOT mending ) and stuff an empty water bottle down into the sock...I'm sure it'l last almost as long as the firehose ones you find in the stores

I hated walking on those "darned" socks! Did your Gram also have that little wooden thing to stretch the sock onto, and the box FULL of darning needles?
