Guarding place

Post by susanna »

I own long haired ds female. We are having some issues, this post is about guarding and attacking.

I take her always with me for long trips, where we travel with subway, bus, train, etc. Guarding makes this difficult nowadays.

When we are waiting for the bus, etc, she starts to guard. This happens EVERYTIME I sit,or stop somewhere to wait. She tries to attack everything coming too close. Too close is when less than 20 meters from us.
IF theres nothing to guard, no humans,dogs,..she tries to attack bikes, big rocks... Cause of this proplem,I have to keep moving when waiting so this wont happen. :yernuts:

During a bus,for examble, she sleeps when Im awake, and starts to guard if I sleep. If somebody passenger looks at us,she sometimes tries to attack. She doesnt warn before always either, just sudden jump with theeth.

Another proplem like this is people who took something from pocket, or lift hand when passing us. -> attack.
The reflex is so sudden, that I have had couple serious times when the leech has stopped the dog, only few sentimetres from person.

Nips people too, herds my friends like that everytime im another room.

squirrels, cats, rabbits, etc gets the drive so up that tries chase bikes, even cars after seeing sguirrel.

When training, doesnt took often sweets. Tried everything. Shes very smart, and took only my praise for work. :o Proplem is,that drive goes too up,if I praise too much.

And truly,I work with her. Inside learning trics, outside agility, obedience ,
Tracking. We took long trips(20-30 km),approx two times a week. She does not get tired, ever.
Sure, always sleeps at home, but after 30 kilometers running and walking, couple hours later shes like "again, again".

Yet still, the best dog I ever have own, but sure theres something to do with that mount of aggression?

I would start with conditioning your dog to a basket muzzle and work on finding a qualified trainer in your area to help you. If you have to bring your dog in public, keep her muzzled. One bite to a person or dog could send you into some legal trouble and could have some very bad consequences for your dog. You're really setting her up for failure by bringing her into places where she feels uncomfortable.

In town she doesnt attack-too much things to attack, so gets  and is contact.

We have been trainers, got directions to keep an iced period. Going well, but no punishment doesnt work.

She has an muzzle and sure I use it when needed.

In freedom this wont happen. Only when leached. And not everybody, only those who look her in the eye.

Shes jealous, and dominant, but gets well with children and those who speak to me at first.

Have to take her with me to trips, wont let anyone in the house if im not there. :g_wink:

Shes going too heated when sees something, snaps totally. Usually bites the leach afterward, then settles down.

think these are common proplems. she totally ignores the trainer. doenst listen anyone but me when trained.

for the record, shes totally another dog when we are at work.
