I'm giving a leg up to our Dutch speaking members this month by using a Dutch word for this months theme: gezellig
Native Dutch speakers will tell you it translates to "cozy" in English. Being a native 'American English' speaker, Dutch a very distant second language, who has learned the meaning of gezellig through my own experiences hearing the word used ... they are only partly correct. It is a word that changes meaning based upon the use of it. I'm sure there are a couple of Dutch members who are going to disagree with me on this and I look forward to learning from them.
So...
NL: gezellig
EN: cozy or see this wikipedia article for some more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gezellig
