NADSR 2015 Calendar Photo Submission!

Post by cake73 »

Dear Dutch Shepherd Enthusiast,

It's time, it's time, it's time!!!

We are now taking submissions for the 2015 North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue Calendar!

:dsshock:

If you have caught your Dutch Shepherd doing wonderful things (and who of us hasn't), then share it with the world and help support NADSR! This is the time to show off your dog and help those dogs that continue to show up in shelters or are turned away by un-wanting owners. By ensuring photos of a number of different activities, this calendar aims to showcase the personality and activity level of the breed.

Please visit www.dutchshepherdrescue.org/calendar.html for more information and a submission form.
A form is required for each picture.
Photos can be sent via email or snail mail (snail mail address upon request).
Please, read the general rules on the form to ensure that your photo is eligible for the vote.

We are looking for Dutch Shepherd photos that would fit into one of the following categories:
Police/Military K9
Protection Sport - Suit or Sleeve
Search and Rescue
Dock Diving/Agility/Flyball/Lure Course/Obedience
Herding
Leisure
Rescued DS
Puppy
Long Coat
Rough Coat

Please, fill out one form for each photo you submit.
Please, limit the number of photos you submit for each dog to no more than THREE.
You can submit each photo to ONE category only.

If you have an awesome photo that didn't get in last year - try again!!
The slate is wiped clean.
But remember, photos will not be automatically recycled.

If your dog did win a category last year we ask that you don't submit to that category again this year.

To get an idea of photo quality and composition, please check out the 2014 NADSR Calendar winners in the photo section of our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 336&type=3).

The deadline for submission of photos is October 31st, so you have plenty of time to get busy, find those awesome pictures, and get them submitted!

Voting is expected to take place in early November. We will post with voting information when the polls are ready.

We expect to have the NADSR 2015 Calendar available by Thanksgiving!

Any questions? Please contact Cheryl at calendar@dutchshepherdrescue.org

Thank you,

Tell us about yourself: My name is Karen and I have a dutch shepherd, Xander, born 6/14/13. He is my second dutch shepherd. My first was Rawly. Even though Xander is my second I still have a lot to learn. That is why I'm here, to learn, get advice, and meet people who love these guys as much as I do.
Location: NC

So we can submit a photo even if our ds isn't a rescue? Also how can we purchase a calendar? I would love to have one.

The DS in your submitted photo(s) can be male or female, adopted or from a breeder, NADSR rescue or other rescue, short or rough or long coat, puppy or adult or senior!

However they do have to closely resemble the breed standard as the calendar also serves as an educational tool. Clicking through the albums from past years' calendars shouId provide many good examples of the DS breed standard http://www.ukcdogs.com/Web.nsf/Breeds/H ... rd01012007.

Please, no fawns even if they are from brindled parents.

The 2015 North American Dutch Shepherd Calendar will be available for purchase from the NADSR CafePress Store (http://www.cafepress.com/nadsr) around the time of Thanksgiving weekend in the US. There will be a wall calendar version and a poster calendar version.

Is your Dutch Shepherd a registered therapy dog?
We'd love to include photos of your dog working in our Calendar Photo Vote!

Since I rescued Radar, I have bought two calendars every year. A poster for my office at work, and a wall calendar for home.

The poster calendar at work is a great conversation piece, and it gets lots of attention. I also like helping NADSR. :wtg:

I wasn't aware that non-NADSR dogs could be entered, and I have a couple of great photos. I guess I should submit them...
