DS pack in children's playground

this posting is inspired by Karen's photo post of Xander zonked.

last night in a snow storm, i took the crew to a children's playground.
Tracer took a persistent interest in a yellow slide, which he tried several times to scale by going up the snow and ice covered slide-down. no matter how far he got, he would eventually go careening off the side or slide inelegantly backward.

after witnessing several returns and engagements, i walked over to offer encouragement. after more of the same, i climbed the ladder in the back and stood on top.

Xander took that as a challenge, so he attempted the feat of going up the icy slide. after following in Tracer's footsteps the first couple tries, he then powered his way up the slide like a freight train. he was so proud. he stood on top with me for a moment then sat down at/on my feet looking down at his friends below.

Tracer just could not stand that, so he raced at the slide and powered his way to the top - now with 3 of us positioned precariously on that little platform at the top of the slide.

as Tracer tried to turn to sit down - to assume the same regal above-it-all stance of xander's that had upset him so, tracer lost footing and slid down the slide, holding xander in front of him - sort of spoon-slide style - as he had managed to dislodge Xander at the same time. all the while, their slide down is pushing several days' worth of accumulated snow ahead of them off the slide-shoot so 8 flailing legs wind up in a pile of snow at the bottom of the slide.

the whole sight was so hilarious - 2 puppies tangled up and sliding rapidly to earth. i have never seen them so inelegant but they seemed to have a ball.

That is the funniest story I've heard in a long time. I laughed out loud as I pictured them spooning down the slide like a snow plow. A video would have been great.
