thought id put a little update on demon, hes getting along well
he spent his first night sleeping out on kodas porch with her lastnight and i managed to get a stealthy picture of him sleeping at 6am, the last time i actually saw him asleep he looked more like a sausage than a dog so i feel like ive caught bigfoot on tape here
still working on desensitisation and taking it slow. amazingly hes taught koda how to share, shes extremely possessive and food/toy aggressive so i never thought id see the day. they can now play with toys together (if koda gives a hint of prattyness demon gives her a few growly smacks to the neck with his teeth then de-escalates the situation into playtime again, hes got spot-on dog etiquette)
unfortunately we're going through a bit of hell because i have to leave the country for a week in august and its near impossible to find a good boarding facility
i dont even want to leave let alone put demon in the care of anyone else. i cant trust anyone to walk him so ive been trying to find a place that can mostly leave him to his own devices for the week with his own outdoor run, but on such short notice most are booked out/unsuitable or require all dogs over 6 months to be neutered (im not having demon done till hes atleast 18 months to protect his joints). i know i cant get any kind of help about this situation but i thought id have a mini rant while im at it
my worst fear is someone trying to walk him and having him go up the lead on them, then demon being reported to the dog warden. hes a lovely dog, just not ready for that.
(btw thats his "im sitting, why havent you given me the food yet" face)
