Hi Folks, we rescued a very underweight neglected dog from a house near us, 4 months ago, we basically just went and took the dog off the owner as she was skin and bone, we had no idea what type of dog she was I thought she may be a GSD crossed with a greyhound, took her to the vet and she thought she may be a half starved Malinois, turns out she is a Dutch Shepherd, we got her at 6 months old, she is now 10 months old and has put on weight and slowly started to come out of herself with the help of our other dog who is half Basset Hound Half Cocker Spaniel, they are very unusual sisters. She seems very happy and contented and is very very affectionate. I need some advice on training her, she has a good recall and basic training but I think as she gets older she is going to need something to occupy her mind more

If you have any specific training questions, you can just post them under the appropriate section.

If she is, indeed, a DS or DS-mix, she'll need a lot of consistent but fair training, physical and mental exercise, and jobs. And it won't ever end.

I'm a big fan of marker training, so that method is what I recommend.

When you say she has good recall, do you mean is it solid under distraction and/or her triggers (if you know what her triggers are yet)?

Also, dont rush to get weight on her, take it slow. She will be fine.
