Today we made a visit to the puppys again, they are for week old now and it was amazing to see the difference betwee today and a week ago. Now they are able to walk around, making noices and discovernig there world. We went outside the house and they realy liked it a lot although you can see small but significant differences amongst them, there are some who liked to take a look in the garden and some others prefered to stay close to Famke, there mother.
We haven't decided yet witch one of the two males will become ours bu there is still time

:o Oh wow! The brindle is already 'disappearing'. I know it is still there, but it is not showing very well, with the growing coats. Can you still tell they are brindle when you see them in person Jan?
And are you any closer to determining which male is going to be yours?

You can still see there brindle but only in bright daylight and from a certain angle Judith.
For sure we have our prefences about the character of another dog between our two other dogs, we prefer a less dominant dog and already you can notice a difference between the two male puppys. The one at the righton the picture is, according to Rita (the breeder as you know), less dominant but more like he is observing things from a distance. So, if this will develop in the upcoming weeks that male will most likely be our choise. But before we decide definitely we our going to see them in real again, that wil be someday soon I assume/hope. :D

ooohh, beware of the observers... I have one of those...and there was one in Ivil's litter (is there one in every litter??) in my experience these are the "real" dogs... :dsshock: I prefer those any day :dswink"

Really? I cannot say that I had he same experience, or if I did, I don't remember.
For me, It has to 'click' and I do not always know what the click is.
Wondering if anyone else out here thinks the thinkers become the do-ers later. :?

I have only seen 2 puppies that I thought of as "thinkers" when they were young. One was Aarow- out of Willow's first litter, bred to Jaxx vom Kelterhoff (I think Arras is behind him???). She turned out serious and sharp, but not very strong.

The second is is Zeke who is about 19 months now. He belongs to a club member. He has a much more defensive side, but will still have to think through a situation before jumping in. Once he has seen something, he is comfortable with it from there out. But he really sees every situation and thing as individual and doesn't generalize well.

Any one else have experiences with "Thinkers?"

Bas, our Laekenois has that very same characteristic and we like it to, that is one of the reasons why this has our preference. But most important reason for us is that we believe this will match best with our other roughcoat Floor, she has always been dominant although with the years passing by this behaviour has become more ''gentle''.

Today some other future pup-owners visited the litter and we have asked them to take some photographs of ''our'' pup. This is young man is the one we have choosen for, his name will be ''Joep'':

It is the one with the black collar on previous pictures.

On this on some of the puppys are drinking while standing up, Joep is in the middle:

Oh, what a cutie!

Can someone help me with the correct pronounciation of Joep? (Jep, rhyming with yep? Yep, with a silent 'j"? Probably something totally different from either of those<g>)
