Don't tell me that you are breeding in malinois to "fix" my breed. Be honest and say you are breeding in brindle to sell yours.

To me, it is the difference between someone who loves the breed and someone just looking for a sport candidate. The person looking for the sport candidate, is not invested in where the non-working pups end up; they are disposable casualties. It is also laziness by the person who sees dollar signs in brindle and breeds to the closest malinois. All the while claiming "well, the KNPV does it!"

Truth is, that the KNPV does, indeed do it.
I have done it too, even on this side of the pond, but that had more to do with creating a working litter for the DoD (at their request) and combining talents, with no regards for looks. My husbands KNPV malinois sure was an ugly thing, but with good health, great grips, enormous hardness and over the top preydrive, he was the best available man for the job.
I was not fixing the DS in that combination. Just trying to cook the best pups.
