In Holland the DS club has litter days twice a year to see what has become of last years litters. Dogs from 1-2 years old are invited together with sire and dame, and a judge looks at the dogs and the litter as a whole. Our litter a week before 1 year old, so still young and far from fully grown :dssmile:

But is was SO nice to see them again! Johan took some pictures, 5 dogs of the 9 out of this litter were there + mom and dad :dslook:

Neat! It's odd to see so many Dutch Shepherds in the background.

What a cool concept!!! We have had Dutch Shepherd Gatherings in the past, but the country is so vast, it is hard for everyone to attend. We need to work on putting together another!

On the litter as a whole he said:
It is a homogeneous litter, which nevertheless has acquired more of the mother than the father, in the positive sense.
Heads could be a bit more elegant, and they all really have a bit too tilted pelvis.
They are all friendly dogs.

Every single pup has also gotten a nice feedback, where the judge found Sabou not that feminin (I agree) and Arik's skull a bit too coarse (I like that...) Aagje and Alva were very typical feminin DS according to him

Of course! I was just trying to be nice in asking for the results

Sounds like a nice review of your litter, Marjolein.

(I'm eager to hear from our conformation expert on the conformation threads...do you think she knows they're there?)

Nice looking bunch Marjlolein. I prefer the male (Arik) with the *big* head though. But I already knew that my personal taste does not match the interpretation of the standard. Probably because a working dog needs a powerful head/jaw in order to be more effective and making a good first impression never hurt anything either.
I agree on Leih's remark about our judge. I hope she can stop on by. Soon.....

I am a fan of Arik too

He's still well within standard, just get's a remark "coarse head" everytime, but still got an "Excellent" 3 times..out of 3 shows

Charachter wise he a super cool dude, not as jumpy as the females and brother Gibbs. He could grow up to be "a good one" :dslook:
