If you had a chance to read the DNA
post, especially the statement from the company that performs DNA testing, you would know that visual identification is a difficult and faulty task.
Obviously, the herding behavior points towards a Shepherd, and there is definitely the Shepherd look in Frankie. The brindle and pointy ears is a dominate trait in many breeds, so it could be something else mixed in.
The tail on a DS is usually not so narrow at the end, and something about the shape of the top of the head says probably not.
The good news is that a "Shepherd Mix" is a great way to answer the question, and as you've stated it doesn't matter that much.
