Reintroducing myself and Radar

My name is Michael and I live in a small suburb South of Miami, FL called Cutler Bay.
I have two dogs I rescued from Miami-Dade Animal Services:
1. Radar is mostly a Dutch Shepherd mixed with GSD and Mal (confirmed by DNA).
2. Leela is mostly GSD mixed with some Lab and American Terrier. She looks so much like a Mal, but the breed is also confirmed via DNA.
I joined the forum within months of rescuing Radar, because I had no idea what a Dutch Shepherd was at the time. The forum members helped me understand my dog, and when the previous site owner decided to call it quits, I took over. I wanted to make sure the info and support of this site would live on.
As a kid it seemed like we had GSDs all the time. Though it was only a couple, I fell in love with the breed. When my wife and I first married we got a Lab from a breeder - that's where I learned a lot about training and dealing with ultra smart dogs. We added a GSD mix shortly after.
Both dogs passed within 3 months of each other, and I made it almost a full year before I started scanning the shelters for the next dog. That's when we found this amazing "Shepherd-Mix" dog we now call Radar.
My profession is computer software and my hobby (that was once a business) is fishing. I am pretty darn good at both. I'm still an amateur at this dog thing, but I am learning every day.
