DNA tests on this breed from the US aren't refined enough to actually use. You have to go to Europe where they genetically link all the dogs tested from this breed. Here's one of my dog's puppies DNA test results. It shows all the dutch shepherds it's related to. Also has a lot of additional helpful tools for determining health genetics. All the herding breeds and really all European breeds are related at some level- thing is they've been separated by breed type for many years. Just because your dog has some genetic markers from say German Shepherds, doesn't necessarily mean it's not a Dutch Shepherd.

Our last dog looked like mostly german shephard with some long hair thing. Turned out he was about 1/8th gshpd, about 1/4 irish terrier and half pure bred boarder collie.
Ya never know.

Not dna tested my own, but here In Europe u get registration papers when u buy pure breed dutch. This is my dogs heritage.

Having a dog's full pedigree going back five generations is the very least a reputable breeder should provide along with both parents hip/elbow certs.

Seems some breeders are now testing for genetic conditions to eliminate those from the breedlines.
