Soccer fans!!

Post by vneerland »

Because Cheryl made a remark about the upcoming world championship soccer finals this Sunday: Holland against Spain, I started to think that we as Dutch Shepherd owners are almost obligated to root for the Dutch team.
So how about it! Who wants to show off their dog as soccer fan?

Tell us about yourself: I live in Metro-West Boston with my husband and our rescued Dutch Shepherd, Minnie. She loves anything involving activity. Our first rescued DS, Kaya, loved to tug. Our second rescued DS (who actually turned out to be a GSDx), Marley, loved to nap. I volunteer for the North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue and am a member of the NADSR BOD.

Hi, all! This is my first post so I am swimming upstream so to speak and figuring this out as I type (on a backup computer at my Mom's house, while mine are in the shop, so posts will be scarce for a short while.) OK I could not resist! I took my horrible cheap little camera and my bigget soccer fan out to the church yard across the street from the house and took some Rootin' for the Home Country pictures. SInce my cheap camera will not take an in-focus picture unless it is set on a million-megabyte files, I stuck them in a print shop program--only way I have to make the small enough to send out here in dial-up country. SO--I have a cute picture but don't know how to upload it. :?: I'm working on that part.

Looking forward to your contribution, Syzygy. 8-) (And hopefully your introduction elsewhere? *hint, hint* )

Someone on the Dutch forum has the bar set really really high. But at the same time, it might be a great inspiration for those of you who may need nudging?

Those are awesome!!!
I especially love the 2 where the dog is posed like the lion on the flag. Very creative!

Ummm...having a bit of trouble figuring out how to navigate this...never used a forum before, just lurked. I am totally lost.

Still working on the picture but it's hard to compete with those from the Hollander forum!

Koga says GO ORANJE! Ok, so he wasn't thrilled to dress up today, but here's our support for Team Netherlands in the World Cup Final! Fittingly, its a tank I used to wear for a soccer team I used to play on - you know, when my knees worked better.Image

No lie! LOVE the orange hat and the orange braceletes (have never been able to spell that word  )

The dog's eyes are rolled up at that hat...

 Koga does not show for me yet. The image is x-ed out tonight.

Ellisa's 'fat girl' shows loud and clear. Maybe she should be the goalkeeper this Sunday. It would be hard to get past her. ;)

I posted on the yahoo list that my old Yaska was not too cooperative about her Oranje portrait. I am not sure who won the battle. I think she did. (the pic sucks, but here you go anyway)

wow, she really is like the Queen Mother or something else venerable. I guess at her age, she has the right to refuse to participate :D

Other than my Halloween tigger costume I couldn't really find anything in the house that was Oranje...

Maybe I'm being a little too picky on the shade of orange!

I went to three stores today just to find something for me to wear and after I got home it dawned on me that I had a NADSR shirt from several years ago that was kind of orange. :D

Cino was not very happy about wearing the shirt. ;) but we got it done anyway. Other than resizing for the web, no edits on these so Cino looks fairly dark in that one.

Abigail is naturally a Netherlands fan with her coat!! When asked what breed she is I used to tell people a Nederlandse Strasse Hund. Then later I switched to Great Dane/Chihuahua

You go Cino! Good job. But I do hope the 'elftal' (translates to 11, the number of players on the soccer team) will be slightly more motivated than he is.

I am still hoping for some more DS fans on here. Let's get them all dressed up. 8-)

Judith,

Tried to get a picture of him with some movement ... but he kept tripping over the shirt.

JUST for you I went out and got these ;) Work is kicking my rear this weekend. Getting out of the house for this was well worth it. Clear headed now (hopefully) to figure out why my project is stalled...

---

No matter how bad the project is going I'm taking a break this afternoon to watch the game!!!
