On the upside, she's not on the shelter site this morning, so she may have been adopted yesterday.
I think its sad that dogs get returned, but I would rather people return a dog if the person cant handle the dog. We've had 2 returnee dogs and one that bit shelter staff. Bear bit shelter staff. With us, he was the most patient, gentle natured dog we've ever had. Peanuts had been returned 5 times, including by the experienced foster family. Bless his heart, while being super sweet, he was onery and street smart till the end. Casper had been returned twice, one of the returns was for biting. While we aren't great dog trainers by any measure, we were able to address issues the dogs had before coming to us.
I would rather someone return a dog they aren't able to handle rather leave a dog in a crate (which seems to have been Casper's life) or allow the dog to become a nuisance dog.
