K-9 teams assist search for missing St. Martinville man with dementia

Atachafalaya Search & Rescue, with K-9 Bloodhound “Willy”, and Mercy Search & Rescue, with Dutch Shepherd “Mercy”, went inside Willis’ home to put up his scent.

Then, the dogs then went into the woods about 200 yards from his home to see if they could find any trace.

K-9 Lando laid to rest at Michigan War Dog Memorial

On Saturday, July 10, K-9 Lando, a Dutch Shepherd, was laid to rest with honors after serving five years with the Hazel Park Police Department.

In 2019, Lando received an award from the National Association of Professional Canine Handlers for helping save the life of a 2-year-old that had gone missing in 90-degree weather.

Marinette County Sheriff’s Office welcomes new K-9

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Department has a new team member. He has four legs, lots of fur, and answer’s to “Sander.” Right now, the department’s third K-9 unit is training in southern Wisconsin for six weeks. Sander is a one-and-a-half-year-old Dutch shepherd.
