- Tell us about yourself: Former trainer, showman, and breeder of Rhodesian Ridgeback, breeding only champions health tested and certified for hips, elbows, heart, eyes, and thyroid. After 50 I determined it was not fair to my dogs to have a large breed I could not easily carry in the event of an emergency so I turned to shepherds. First a rescue GSD that lived to 15+ yrs and now a Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherd, and Border Heeler, all rescues.
Meet Kuvira
Last August I saw a Tess’K9 Rescue Organization post of dogs up for adoption that included a tiny little photo of what I thought might be a Dutch Shepherd. Turned out I was right this girl was up for adoption. I had previously adopted a Belgian Malinois and a Border Heeler cross from Tess’K9 and wanted to help this poor girl that was a victim of tragedy. Her first owner was involved in a serious car accident and suffered a severed spine. She was no longer able to take care of this dog and her Great Dane sister and with a small child, a newborn, and a physically disabled wife the husband was not able to handle all. So Kuvira went into rescue and then a month and a half later she came from Texas to me in Virginia. She was spayed last month and I had her hips x-rayed at the same time. The hips are great and she seems very healthy and happy now.

- Tell us about yourself: I am: a father, a carpenter, hunter, runner. I have extensive experience with sled dogs, shepherd mixes, a wolf hybrid, a Shiloh Shepherd. I added Endeavor in April 2016. She was not working out in HRD. I train for game recovery and general utility.
