- Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind.
Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32.
Can't wait for all the snow to get gone! Spring is coming too slow this year! - Location: Corinth, New York
Photo mistakes
I envy all of you who get such beautiful pictures! I will never get along with this camera. I really do try but always;
Too blurry Too much tongue Too many teeth There was a dog here--where the heck did she go? Found her! I think I need lessons!

HAhAHA, funny! I have taken many many photos before I get ONE that is good. A good camera does help. I usually use my Canon EOS 20 for most shots, my Blackberry is horrible at pictures. I do find that having the flash on does help capture the picture but you have to watch for the Lazer eye effect. Also, check your cameras settings, set it on the little runner guy if it has one. Dont set the ISO to high then it will wait to long for the light and the little four legged subject will be gone.

Chris, you can't tell the difference between your photos and mine, including the "invisible dog" shots! It's not us, though--it's the camera, it's the camera!! Yours probably has that stupid delay, too. A neighbor gave me his old but good camera, but there it sits: "Whatta ya mean I gotta read this 500 page manual first?"
You'll get some good, crisp shots--and then you'll celebrate...heavily. Even pros (Ansel Adams, too) admit that they may only get that one good shot after taking 100 photos.

ISO - International Organization of Standardization (I know...the acronym doesn't fit - because of translation). They set the standards for many things. Ever hear of ISO 9000 for manufacturing?
With photography it harkens back to the dark ages of using film in your camera ... GASP!!! The ISO set the standard for worlwide production of film so that it would be easier for everyone. So, it set the "speed" of the film.
