I love watching the Hero Dog awards and this year was very happy to see a Dutch Shepherd as one of the honorees! Retired MWD Bino won the award for 2011 Hero Dog in the Military Dog category.

Youtube and my computer don't mix ;( What earned the dog it's reward?

Bino is 13.5 years old.

He's a MWD with 11 years of service.
He worked as a narcotics dectection & patrol dog.
In 2006 and 2007 he served in Iraq (total of 14 months).
He's now a demo dog for dogs training to help soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury.

I read about him in Dog Fancy (on one of the back pages in the most recent issue, I think December 2011).
