In another thread (last week?), I commented on having a "Whatever Non-DS file" (where you didn't comment), hence the "I thought that you hung on my every word." 
Though I can only hope to become the person who my animals believe I am, the things that they have taught me have made me a better human being. ~~~Sharon~~~

- Tell us about yourself: Rescued my DS in 2007 off a 6 lane highway in rush hour, he has been the best & most amazing family dog. He was someones throwaway, which I will never understandt. He has sold us on the DS and we could not imagine life without him. What a kind, funny, gentle, protective and loving dog! He loves everyone in the family and would sacrifice his life for any of us he clearly feels my husband is 'his' person. We also own a 12 yo GSD mix who was someones back yard breeding 'bank'. I got her at 6 weeks and her eyes were still blue (she was my first dog and I did not know that was too early to take her when the breeder sent her home w/me). She is loyal and utterly devoted to me alone. We are always keeping our eyes open for DS and GSD rescues that may need new homes. Because the DS isn't a well known breed we are forever educating people about the merits and joys of owning one. Very glad to have found a place where they are appreciated!

SO.......tonight the kids and I watched Alpha and Omega, a kids movie about wolves. There was a thunderstorm in the movie and Miss Sadie is afraid of T-storms, she starts barking and shaking and jumps on the couch with us. Im sitting in the middle of my kids and Sadie makes herself comfy on my lap. The kids thinks this is great. Doggies arent allowed on the couch, they have their own comfy beds, but .... Its cute so I let her stay. I couldnt get up to get my camera since I had a scardy cat Dutchie on my lap. I did tell the kids to not tell her its okay. She sat with us and watched the TV for the rest of the movie. After the movie she got booted.

whahaa, she definately knows she cannot lie on the couch now...but if you act a little scared, ears down, big eyes

I know, Im such a softy. Once when she was *smaller* she was sooo scared during a thunderstorm. I ignored her but she went on the couch, I have a sectional, so she tucked herself in the corner into the smallest ball she could. How could I boot her off??? She was shaking. I didnt say anything to her and let her stay.

- Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind.
Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32.
