Future Themes for the contest

Post by icvanstra »

All,

My list of ideas for monthly contest themes is starting to run short. I'm looking for some new ideas. Throw out some suggestions. I've received some suggestions via email/PM in the past - please submit them again.

I think this month is our 30th monthly contest!

Thanks,
Eric

What about a...
1. sports theme? It could be doggie sports or feature a favorite sports team?

2. (inspired by the latest episode of How I Met Your Mother) a firsts theme, as in puppies first Christmas, dogs first title, moms first litter, etc.

3. non-dog/human friends (squirrels, rabbits, cats, etc.)

4. Toys

5. Celebrity look a like ***(my favorite)

6. Dog Shaming (if you haven't seen the website http://www.dogshaming.com/)

on the dog shaming, I think we schould just open a DS shaming sticky topic, so we can add over the years

You can check out the old topics on the dutch forum as well Eric, for ideas, pick the popular ones ;)
Overthere they always loved the "editing" topics, where phoptoshop or stuff like that was allowed.

I also like the sports idea, and how about "close up"?

Tell us about yourself: DS and Mal foster newly approved aug'12 by NADSR and ABMCR. high-functioning Autistic in nyc/hamptons in my 60's. Rescued the smartest dog i had ever seen off nyc street in 2000. Tracedog's intelligence exceeded by multiples my judgement that day. My first [and only as of 10/2012] dog turned out to be a DS, perhaps with a touch of something else, but attention to detail, behavioral traits, and physical habits, movement, and skill identical to DS. But MUCH more intellectual ability. supremely confident in all settings, fearless, very outgoing and social with people and friendly with dogs. Seldom apart in over 12 years, Trace Dog was the most important relationship of my adult life; he was my partner. He died july17,2012. i am dying without him. www.youtube.com/tracesobaka www.dogster.com/dogs/637612

i really like 2 suggestions - 1]the christmas/holiday season for NOW [ already a great posting in photo section ]
and 2] close-ups. in the unlikely event that something fun and original occurs to me, i shall write again. tho it is hard to beat 'my dog and me.' could repeat that every year to uncover other great pics from those that did and did not participate this time.

I jsut finished looking at a hillarious slideshow of "Animal Photobombs". http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/0 ... 31139.html
And it made me think that would be a funny theme, but maybe hard to accomplish naturally.

great suggestions. Thalie and Sadie have been shamed, im sure I can find more shaming. What about, brothers and sisters, or just siblings. I know they aren't true siblings but I call them that.

Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.

Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!

I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.
