Tell us about yourself: I've had Belgian Malinois for years at my folks. I just got married, and a friend of mine who does search and rescue, had been keeping an eye out for Mali puppies for me. He came across a 9 month old Dutch Shepherd female pup who needed a home. She doesn't have the nerves to do the search and rescue she was intended for, but is perfect pet material. She's enough of a challenge to be alot of fun :)

Since I don't have any flowers in bloom right now except butter cups (which Maiya kept squishing!), and Maiya doesn't know down/stay yet, this is one of the few decent pics I got of her. (before all the buttercups were squished haha)

Owned by Flint (American Eskimo Dog) and Rufus (Dutch Shepherd mix) :)

In loving memory of Maiya, the best Dutch Shepherd. 2012-2013. At 14 months old, you had yet to live life to it's fullest. You touched our lives and will never be forgotten.

Tell us about yourself: Hi, I am Jacquie and my Dutch Shepherd is Kima. My boyfriend and I adopted her at 7 1/2 weeks old and she is now just about 5 months old. Do not have papers for her. Mother was a pure Belgium Malinois and father pure Dutch Shepard. Troy (boyfriend) is a dog trainer. We also have a 3 1/2 yr. old pitbull named Tito. She definitely keeps him on his toes! First time owner of this breed and just want to learn as much as I can about it and how to be the best owner I can be for her.

Tell us about yourself: DS and Mal foster newly approved aug'12 by NADSR and ABMCR. high-functioning Autistic in nyc/hamptons in my 60's. Rescued the smartest dog i had ever seen off nyc street in 2000. Tracedog's intelligence exceeded by multiples my judgement that day. My first [and only as of 10/2012] dog turned out to be a DS, perhaps with a touch of something else, but attention to detail, behavioral traits, and physical habits, movement, and skill identical to DS. But MUCH more intellectual ability. supremely confident in all settings, fearless, very outgoing and social with people and friendly with dogs. Seldom apart in over 12 years, Trace Dog was the most important relationship of my adult life; he was my partner. He died july17,2012. i am dying without him. www.youtube.com/tracesobaka www.dogster.com/dogs/637612

ok, I have a secret: TexXAN [ Tex Xander Dog ] joined me and Sakima in the family last Thursday night. he was found 10 days earlier as a stray in Paris, TX. he is 3 months old and we both love him, though Saki's legs and ears are getting very sore from being constantly slammed with a mouthful of needles. TexXan has decided he loves life at the beach and thus has agreed to stay. so, I guess, you will all be hearing more from TexXander.

here is a cropped version that better emphasizes flowers and dogs - which are all pretty scrambled together. so this photo is TexXan's and Sakima's entry for May Flowers. I was just so excited looking at pics of the new family that I did not think to size it for the occasion.

thank you Lisa, and thank you Leih !
TexXan is so cute. the last baby pup in my household was when I was 5, so.... it's all very new to me.
I think he is amazing. I picked him up from Newark airport after he had been traveling for almost 11 hours - the last bit being trucked to curbside; even then in his crate before he was handed over to me he was defiantly happy. then or since, I have not seen him the slightest bit intimidated by anything. he learned ''SIT" at a stop on the way home. he is so confident, so physically able, AND so perceptive that I have dreams that he just might be able to walk in TraceDog's pawprints, but he and I have much to do before that has a chance of becoming reality. meanwhile TexXan seems truly content and we are all very happy.

Tell us about yourself: Artist, Mother, Equestrienne, Educator, Homesteader wannabe, dog-lover. Not counting my current DS, I have had 2 GSDs and 3 rescued mixed-breeds. All of these dogs were rescues, except for my childhood GSD, who was a gift from my parents when I was 7, and my current DS who I bartered artwork for from the breeder. Maiyou, one of my current dogs, is a Pitbull/New Guinea Singing Dog of 13 years old. Still very active and "Young" in nature. I now also have a DS named Mokume, (pronounced "Moh-koo-meh") or "Moko" for short. Newest member of our pack is Freyja, a random mixed hound I rescued during a horseback trip in the middle of a state forest.
Location: VT

Mokume

Had a hard time choosing, have several nice photos of him with flowers, many with better flowers, but I like his expression in this one the best. One of the few not-manic-looking, serene, calm, peaceful shots that I cherish for their rarity!

John! Tell us more about your new pup! SQUEEEEE! What a fun surprise after you were so sure it was to be a one-dog household!
