When he got up from his snooze, one ear stayed up, but he shook his head while I was grabbing my phone to get a pic, and it fell again. Drat.

He kept up with my GSD on a walk today. It was crazy. And after 3 tries of "halt/sit" (with help to do so) at the street crossings, he sat on command. Wowzers.

Yup they're crazy smart… my guy learned if he wanted a snack to start grabbing things and running around with them (hint: I ended up bribing him with treats to get said items back). It was a brilliant problem solving example… and a PITA until I realized what he was trying to say. My friend taught his puppy to sit in 10 minutes and "wave" in 15. I'm still jealous over that! lol.

And when does demonic possession hour stop??!! Xander still does it every night. I don't mind though. We go outside and perform an exorcism by running full speed around the yard for 15-20 minutes. He sleeps very well all night long afterwards.

Hendrix did that with our new grill today. Finally noticed the mysterious metal-meat-fat-cooking-hot thing had wheels. He sniffed, jumped back, sniffed, then started growling and alert barking at it. Keep in mind this grill has been here for four days and he's explored every inch of it. (Facepalm)

As far as demon possession hour... I dunno. My guy kinda died down around 5-6 months. He'll still occasionally do that which is usually a sign to me he's either a) too tired to function, or b) needs more exercise. That's actually a good Q - how long has the possession hour lasted for others? About what age did they sort of "grow" out if it?

I don't get it, gang! I'm missing something here! I adopted Thor when he was 18-months and he was then still in a perpetual state of possession. And I can say without doubt or hesitation that he still is a madman. (He learned to chill and all that, but....)

Sharon, we must be missing something here. Sadie is 3.5 and still as much a machugana as she was when I got her as a pup. She will pass right out but if I move, * BOING* she is up and on the ready. She still runs through the door to go out, THEN sits and makes eye contact. Every hour is demon possession hour with Sadie. Thalie just sits back and wonders how she can be a DS.

Heheheheh...Sadie. Goof. I thought Sadie and Thor were the same age. He's (gulp) "this many!" (5 1/2 years). Not sure how I survived. Oh, right. Alcohol.

I can't complain, really. He's turned in to a wonderful beast. I read the troubles people have with their beasts (not just DSs) and I hug my boy. He's a pistol, but he's respectful and knows the rules. (We won't talk about his...um...Rambo impersonation with critters and other dogs.)

And to go even MORE off-topic...I had to take one of his jobs away due to a change in the house and he's totally about it. He loves his jobs, man; don't mess around with them. Had to fix that right fast.

Thor has lots of jobs around the house, but the one to which I was referring was recycling. (No sharp or otherwise unsafe recyclables.)

The recycling bin has always been under the sink with a Kong tied to the cabinet door so he can open it with his mouth instead of marking up the wood. (And he shuts the door when he's done. Anyway....) If he sees or hears a recycleable, brother, get out of his way. But this Sunday, I had to forever-move the bin to the pantry...which is off-limits to him. Oh, the horror of seeing or hearing a recyclable and not be able to take care of it!

We worked something out. He had to learn a new way of disposing the recyclables. He's relieved.

Oh, many things. Most epically my bra and proceeded to prance around the backyard (we have a wrought iron fence) in front of neighbors, who watched on in amusement as he pranced away, flapping it around his head like the best game of whiplash, and then promptly peed on it.

He's also stolen the remote. And changed the channel to the shopping network. And then hidden the remote.

He'll steal almost anything and everything. We won't talk about how he jumped up and stole the last deviled egg off my plate as I was walking to the table. One I learned he could leap about five feet in the air, he could also target way better, and he had never done that before. Or how he stole my cheesecake from the fridge. I'm still bitter about the cheesecake.
