Red coat
Mr. H has a very interesting coat. I've noticed in the summer he gets lighter, more fawn-y, with hints of red, and in the winter he turns more red. I always figured this was due to something similar to how hair lightens in the summer from exposure. Well, then I noticed in an all-white environment (thanks random ice storm), my dude turns red. Like really red. In snow, ice, and sleet he is waaaaay redder than I've ever seen him. Has anyone else seen their DS do this? He doesn't do it when he's wet or damp. Just seems like it's limited to white environments.

Sadie is a red brindle and she will get really red too. When she is next to Thalie, she makes Thalies coat look more dull

Hey, now! (Though the husband would agree.)Stacy_R wrote:Now you know why he is how he is...he's a red-head!!!
Only in certain types of light can you see the red in my boy. And when you see it, it's SO THERE that you can't believe you can't see it all the time, or at least more often. I love seeing his red. It's gorgeous. Makes him even more stunning.

HA! I may not be a full on red-head, but I do have A LOT of red in my hair, so I can speak to the fieryness of redheads honestly. LOL

Re: Red coat
I just say "when the red comes out, he's in tiger mode!" Lol.
Wonder if the red in their coats is always like this? It's super awesome and fascinates me. It's so pretty!

Heh--try getting a photo of it! I have one that shows a hint of it. I'll see if I can find it.

Re: Red coat
See if this works. I think he looks a little cartoon-y red from the camera but it's the best pic to capture the "red"ness. lol.

Re: Red coat
H looks to be the same color as our SOFMPC that we had during my most recent Afghanistan trip. I kind of like the brick red look. Just not as much as I like my dark Gustav!!!
