New guy! New Dutch????

Good morning . Im a new member from northeast pa. I wsnted to say hi. Im 30 and am a dog lover and going into law enforcement. I rescued this guy ( Riley) last year. He was listed as pit mix. Guess bc of his color. I have been trying to figure out what he is since i got him. Hes 2 years old and about 40 lbs. Amazing dog. Super friendly.loyal. snuggler. Loves to fetch and tug. He has a marbled tongue and all black pads and nail. You think hes a dutch? Or a mix?

Welcome !! Since we cant see through the computer into your house to see your wonderful pup, how about some pictures??? See if you can take some from the side as he stands, front, and head shots. Pits do come in brindle but with out seeing him, we cant say anything.

he is beautiful but hard to tell still, there are so many breeds that he could be. I do see the pit head and since PB have brindle and alot of other breeds do as well. I cant really say.

Thank you. He is the best. Just wish i knew what he was. I always get he looks like smaller shephard. I know alot of breeds come in brindle. The dutch just seem to be as close as i can find

Enjoy your dog and don't be so concerned about what breed he is. Does it really matter? The great qualities that you describe him having wouldn't change a bit. A brindle coat doesn't make a Dutch SHEPHERD! At the end of the day you can call him anything you want, in his eyes I am sure it wouldn't matter.

Sometimes it's more fun not knowing... We make up weird mixes all the time for Tyson just to see people's reactions. My husband's favorite is 1/2 African Wild Dog - 1/2 Dingo... You should see the reactions...especially when they stare Tyson in the eye too long and he starts growling. Those 2 make a great team...lol.

Lol i def. Agree i wouldnt change anything about him hes my other half its just funny i get people saying wow hes cool what is he and i reply,i wish i knew. I have gotten dingo. Hyenna. Wild dog. Shephard. ...

Nothing like a ShepHARD ? The "Harding" breed's are so versatile. Dutch, Belgian, German, Australian etc.. and of course the Anatolian although not a true "Harder" more of a protector.
