Breeder Changed the Sire
So the breeder decided to change the sire. Dad BRN 23886, Mom BRN 23471. About 4 months and I'll have a female pup
fingers crossed

Do you know why he change the sire (relatively) last min? Not that that's a bad thing. Looks like a dog that brings a lot more to the table drive and temperament wise.

Re: Breeder Changed the Sire
He contacted me about 3 weeks ago and said he would be breeding Rival to Kym's mom. Because Kym had not come into heat yet. He asked me if I wanted pup out of that litter. I passed, I told him I'd hold off until the Condor and Jami 25220 breeding. Then over the weekend he called and told me Kym came into heat and that he bread her to Condor.

Re: Breeder Changed the Sire
Okay I couldn't remember which it was but I had deja vu on one of them.
It looks like an even better breeding than the Rival/Kym but I don't remember Rival's pedigree so much. Did he tell you what he's expecting outta the pups as far as drives/temperament?

Re: Breeder Changed the Sire
Its a first time breeding, so... He's told me, he feels they will have a good amount of prey, but not prey monsters. When we talked about the parents he said they are very serious dogs, very clear headed, civil, slightly neutral to strangers.
I guess only time will tell, we'll see how the pups act and what not. I've changed direction a bit from hat I first wanted. Now i'm planning on getting involved with American Politiehond Association, when they get going.

From the lines that doesn't surprise me at all. At some point reactions to strangers will be a problem and most likely if you've done exposure right it'll be behavioral/attitude that can be corrected. I would say being clear, fair, and firm will be your best bet with the pup but that's advice I always give lol!
I bet you're super pumped about the puppy!
Did they get their non-profit status yet? I've been keeping an eye on them and really want to see what they have cooking. May be the better answer to PSA/NADA.

Yes they have non-profit status, I can't figure out how to put a link in here. They have a Facebook page, not the most active, they do have a few things posted. APA level 1 exercise and scoring is listed there. Looks very similar to KNPV. Hopefully it will take off, time will tell...

Re: Breeder Changed the Sire
I follow them on Facebook but missed the Level 1 exercises - I'll go check them out. I liked what I was hearing before. I hope it does too! I would love to see a KNPV-style sport here in the states. I know a few years ago they tried to start KNPV clubs but it didn't succeed.
